My shower is running cold. Water pressure is fine and there is hot water in the rest of bathroom.

I can't access the main shower unit, it is hidden behind a tiled wall. There are wall mounted remotes to adjust flow and temperature.

Before I call on the services of an expensive plumber, can anyone recommend any solutions?

Nope. A smooth tiled wall.

If I could access the shower what may be causing the problem?

Could be a blocked filter. A picture might help

Hi

I had same problem on my shower. Similarly it is a concealed unit within the wall, but there is a cover plate that sits over the two control knobs. Have a look at the knob that adjusts the temperature, you should be able to remove it and the valve sits behind the knob.

Hopefully you can unscrew the valve (if I remember needed a 28 or 30mm socket on mine). Try soaking the valve in vinegar as it will dissolve the crude the blocks the valve/filter. Worked for about 12 mths on mine then did same again. Second time I replaced the valve.

Just make sure both hot and cold water is turned off to shower and even then expect some dribbling smile

Having a really hard time removing the temperature knob. It is clearly being held on by a single screw, however this screw has a flush head. Any advice how I remove it? See pics.

I reckon that is just a cover you just need to get something in there to pop it off.

Cover your plughole or it will end up down there!!

Grand. I will get a knife under it this evening and see what's underneath.

Cap came off. Inside there was a headless screw which I removed with an allen key. Once this was removed I was still not able to move anything, despite considerable force. Should the temperature knob unscrew or just pull of at this stage.

Upon further inspection there was nothing else in the hole which could be unscrewed or removed.

Getting rather frustrated as I am clearly missing something simple here.

Once the grub screw is removed you should be able to remove the valve. Sometimes they pull out, sometimes they are the screw variety. If it won't pull out I will assume it's a screw type, however it may be very tight if it's not been touched for a while. You may need considerable effort to get it to loosen.

There will definitely be some instructions online. I just had a quick google for tivoli shower valve and there are a fair few options.

Slight hijack here - I had exactly the same issue - eventually removed the cartridge, soaked in white vinegar for an hour & now have hot water again - now too hot...

Also bought a replacement from plumbworld - for £25ish delivered - bit tricky finding the correct cartridge.

So now i have new cartridge - it has a marker pen line on it - should that be fitted at the 12 o'clock position?

thanks!

Doing my nut in. Manage to remove the outer temperature knob but have been unable to remove the larger knob that controls water on/off.

Any ideas? No visible holes for an allen key to go. Tried brute force to pull it off and tried turning it but neither did the trick, either that's wrong or I'm weak.
