Its 'funny' reading back some of the comments, especially regarding 96RS prices

If everything else lines up, how about getting it wrapped?

I've been thinking of swapping my 996 gt3 for this car but couldn't make the maths work. Based on Jackal's car, JZM should be giving me money for the swap!

That's a lot of bother. An increasing number of 7.1 GT3s are popping on to the market as of late.

Erm...
Don't know what to say. You're not by any chance sitting in a cafe in Amsterdam at the moment are you Jackal? wink

Still god loves a tryer.
For the record my 60k mile, perfect spec, guards red Mk1 sold at the weekend for under half of what you're asking. And that was a Clubsport.

Before anyone says I undersold it, it was priced fairly for a quick no hassle sale, which is exactly what I got thanks to a great P'header.

£90k! Honestly. laugh

Getting it wrapped wouldn't be that much effort if the spec is exactly what you're looking for.

I sold my mint 996.1 GT3 (comfort with buckets) in Speed yellow with 20k ish on the clock for £45k 12 months ago through RPM. What a difference a year makes hey?! Nothing surprises me anymore with Pork prices. Can't believe I'm thinking that 997 GT3 CSs are looking good value at £65-68k.

GLWTS though Jackal.

Cheers

Hey Mark, also forgot to say - shame about the sale of your GT3, but sounds like it's for a good reason. Good luck with everything. No doubt you'll be in a new car soonish. I have just sold my house and sitting on a chunk of cash and in rented. Unfortunately the money is the wife's account for future house purchase which is probably wise in case I have a spur of the moment 4.0 RS purchase moment. A family of 4 and 3 cats can live in a GT3 right?! smile

Cheers

Although £90k is in my view not where the market is at yet....I am sorry to say this but from your description you have put a big premium on 'low hassle' smile
..I would have said a red mk1 clubsport with lowish miles (for the age) should deffitely start with a 5...and 6 if you are being aggressive...7 or more is for the chancers...

Really like the no time wasters, dreamers or low ballers line at the end!
What is a low ball offer on this?!

depends how you look at it. The market isn't really in the £60k's yet. The best example of a Mk1 CS so far was the Langdales car for £58k a few months ago. Yellow, CS, only 24K miles and the Manthey conversion, which could add value or detract from it depending on buyer. So based on that I'd say mine with 60k on would be worth low to mid £50k's. Then deduct a bit as less buyers are happy buying a £50k car privately that is no longer covered by OPC warranty. We are down to £50k. Then mine needed or "could need" a few things that I had no evidence of it having had done, e.g. diff rebuild, suspension refresh. Add to that a few age related stone chips etc and I think low-mid £40's for a quick sale was ok.

I'm never out to try it on though. I'm totally honest when I sell a car and actually point every niggle or fault out. Why bullst? Life is simpler without it and I'm an "Anything for an easy life" type of lad.
When I price my cars I follow the market fairly rather than try and steer the market. Don't get me wrong I'd have loved more money but fair's fair and it's in very good hands now. First person that viewed it bought it, without an inspection and they got a good deal, just as I got my quick sale without all the emails asking to know the far end of a fart, then deciding they want a different colour or something. smile

Slodgey!
How's it going? Yep forced sale in a way. House refurb swallowing money at a rapid rate of knots and that's my priority for the next couple of years.
Your yellow car was a beauty but I bet you're getting more use out of the silver Mk2.

I know you expressed a casual interest in my car a while back, along with a few others and you were on my list to email, but the buyer was first in the queue as things panned out.

Anyway, I hope you're enjoying the track days. Good summer for it so far. I'll hopefully be back in something Porsche in the future, it just depends how impatient I get with the house. It'll be between gardens and driveway or another 911 in the spring. I think the gardens may win as I like to pull up to a nice tidy house after a hard day at work. I'm a bit anal like that. wink

Take it easy anyway! thumbup

Ryanodine - a low ball offer is £89k don't you know, so don't you dare bid lower than that. hehe

Seriously Jackal, good luck and if you get anything near the asking price, fair play to you. 996RS's have jumped so why not the Mk1s eh.

Fair enough. That's a good gentlemanly approach.

I think it will sell for near the asking price, after all it's the rarest Gt3 in rhd of them all bar the 4.0.
