So I have the basic info from Google - and have found a local stockist of these bikes. I love the look of them and I get the impression they are properly decent kit. I also have a weekend test ride booked in June for the basic frame which is the "Bond", retailing at £2600 for the frameset.

However, I keep coming back to the bike pictured below, the RB1000. I simply love it. Does anyone have any riding experience or knowledge of these bikes, any model?

Thanks

How many weeks or months of this are we going to have to endure?

That is lovely. Must be £10k+ in that spec though!

Pretty low at the front due to the short head tube. Can't imagine everyone finding that comfortable. You see the brand on most of the tours, so can't be bad.

You do understand "sponsorship" don't you. If Raleigh ponied up ~£6M most teams would ride them laugh

Frameset is up at 4.5k so with an Ultegra build and a modest wheelset (Cosmics) looking at sub 6k for a UCI approved frame.

I am not rushing out to buy this tommorow, but equally, I have not just stumbled across it. It's got my name all over it. That's not to say I am worthy of it, because of course I am not, but, it should last around 4 years until I want an upgrade.

But above all, it has stolen my heart, like the De Rosa. I'm just wondering how much better it is, as right now, I can't imagine a better ride than what I had.

Looks fantastic but can I suggest a bike fit, followed by a budget setting session, followed by a coffee with a decent bike shop to look at bikes that would fit your geo from the fit?

Would be a shame to set your heart on a frameset that could not be made to fit you without upsetting the handling etc.....

Get whatever fits you.
I was looking at lots of frames : got a parlee with a longer head tube as it actually fitted, and was a little different to the norm.
Not point looking good and being uncomfortable.. But then again. what do I know...

The Bond looks like a budget, stuck together frame without the usual Cipollini geometry.

It's a very aggressive riding position on that, in 56cm the head tube is 127mm, quite a saddle to bar drop!

Not sure what you could upgrade to from that really though? It's a pro level bike.

You'll need a toga to ride it though.

Wrong bike for anyone other than an accomplished amateur/pro rider.

I was just emailed about the PX RT-57 for 1200 quid, looks a more rational buy.

You don't want to end a ride after an hour with back pain.

Plus the Cipollini font is st.
