I can't understand why the scriptwriters have brought Cilla back.
I'm glad they have though. Wendy Peters is just brilliant. All we need now is for Roy's mum (Stephanie Cole) to come back, but II think she has health issues (in real life).

I really would prefer to see it "on the day" during the appropriate episode. All this advance publicity in an attempt to attract extra viewers , well it just mars my enjoyment. It's like when you try to avert your eyes from the football results so you can watch the match later that night.
Sorry to go on about this, but there's more in the paper today about who's coming back and who's leaving. I won't spoil it by spilling the beans, but don't read the TV section in the Sun today. It's messed up my head.

Bringing back the failed dwarf who swans around south Manchester as if she is a celebrity, well no one else would employ her.

Max's dad is too well spoken to be a convincing scumbag, he's like Jack Whitehall trying to act hard.

Also, there was an old episode of Father Ted on last night with a woman in it that I was convinced was a young Mary.

Kirkys Fiancees (I think?) son is also far too well spoken to be hers, she on the other hand, is like a lesser and better behaved sister or Cilla.....

Actually, Tracy does scrub up rather well. Still wouldn't want it long-term, though.

Pity Eva wasn't there - I wanted to see her in something low-cut to take the attention away from the bride.

What HAS Carla done? Tune in tomorrow folks......

I'm sure they'd show us that if she did...

Bit too obvious, that 1.

I think she's gobbed to Michelle, who will tell Steve, who will have a complete mental break down due to the pressure of keeping this to himself.

Agreed. The scriptwriters usually make up a lame storyline to account for absences (Ken in Canada, Kevin in Germany etc.) but this one is the weakest for a long time. There's no way that Deirdre would miss a bunfight like Tracy's wedding, just to be with Bev (I have assumed that this is the Bev who was Sally Lindsay's mum when she had the Rovers, but they haven't actually confirmed that).

Sorry, Corrie, but this is one "excuse for absence" that is totally unbelievable. Is the actress on holiday, or in a clinic for stringy necks?

Remember seeing reports a while back that Anne's had to take a three month break due to stress/exhaustion.

That's another beef I have with soaps - why do they feel the need to have a "spectacular" every year or so? Remember the airliner that landed on Emmerdale? (Or was it Brookside? That's how much I care). I assume that it's to generate new interest, but all the soaps have their devotees (like us) and we're going to watch the bl**dy thing even when it's going through a boring patch.

There's really no need for ridiculous extravagances which are so unlikely. Maybe a minibus crash is a bit more down to earth, I suppose. Rant over. As you were.

It was Emmerdale, and was in pretty poor taste in many opinions, was their "Lockerbie"

I guess it's to get people who have never seen it to watch it, a bit like a drug dealer giving out "freebies" to get you hooked I suppose.

I agree, that's probably the intention. But Corrie's the ONLY thing I would watch if I had a choice of one programme only. That's how good it is in my estimation, and I have a problem with folks who can't see that. Heathens.
