Those of you that have followed or replied to my topic below (Car Ramps) will know that I have been in contact with the Czech supplier (manufacturer?) of the hydraulic car ramps seen here;

http://www.uni-max.co.uk/hydraulic-ramp-platform-9...

I now have the prices from Uni-Max in order to make a decision regarding a group buy for 10 of these ramps and they can be purchased and delivered to the UK (one address) for a cost of approximately £210. The final price will be calculated once we have decided where is best to deliver them and the exchange rate at the time of order. Onward shipment to your address will be for you to arrange or if convenient collect them yourself.

So that I can gauge the 'serious' interest in a group buy can you please e-mail me with a contact telephone number and your location.

If less than 10 people are interested then I will make other arrangements.

Cheers

I'm interested.

I live in Gloucestershire and am happy to collect from the South Coast (your location?) as I travel a fair bit. I can also bring back any others to the Gloucestershire area if people want to collect from me. I can take as many as a 5 series estate can carry.

Karl.

I am interested, can I suggest you post this up on the general TVR stuff thread as you will have a wider audience on there.

Sorry to hi jack your buying forum but I thought that you guys may be interested as my ramps arrived today. Unfortunately I bought them prior to your suggestion of a group buy. They are more substantial than I thought. I can now see why the carriage was 90 euros. There was slight damage in transit as one of the release knobs was broken. I have emailed them asking for another one.

They are quite heavy to move about and one side jacks up a bit quicker than the other (The hydraulics probably need a bleed on one side). I've asked them if this is possible although it is by no means a major problem.

The TVR climbs up the ramps with ease and as they are heavy they do not slide forward as the car approaches. Once up there is a simple locking mechanism to make them safe. There is plenty of room to work under the car when jacked up. With the front jacked up there is only an inch or two to spare at the rear. The car is lifted to quite an angle. When the back of the car is lifted the same is true for the front.

I paid 346.06 euros including carriage and am happy with my purchase as they will make life under the car far more pleasant and safe. Any questions just ask PM if you like.

Thank you for the update Anthony. How did they arrive; on a pallet for instance?

The cost of delivering one set of ramps is the main factor here which is why I suggested a group buy and is dependent on where you live as our Scottish friend found out when he was quoted 400 Euros in delivery cost to get two sets up there from Czech!!

For those that are still considering this group buy, I am not a business and am buying these for myself and anyone who wishes to join the group buy. I will limit the offer to ten sets simply because I can't store more than that and will have to unload them all myself!!! 640kg anyone??

They came in a plywood box 44"x17"x13" sorry about the inches and weigh gross 57 kgs net 51 kgs. As I said their pretty hefty things. They also seem to sorting out the damaged part

I think I will have a set Peter. If they can all be loaded onto a pallet, it might be best to have them delivered to my work as I can forklift them off. Not sure how I'd repackage them individually to send out to everyone though.

I will be interested in these, as it was only yesterday , I had to use the car ramps for the Chim, with 6x2 timber to take the camber out , to stop the front end from catching ...you have an uneasy feeling that the ramps will slide out when driving up them ....
So at these prices "I'm in"

I see the man-maths has been brought to bear then Dan!! biggrin

I have e-mailed the supplier to find out how they will arrive to me as it could be an issue if they're loaded differently to how one is apparently packaged, so your offer of your company forklift could be very useful. Also it is my intention to get everyone to arrange their own collection but hopefully if I can get groups from roughly the same area to share the transport cost, either by hiring a van or trailer or, as has been suggested, if someone has a large estate and is coming to this area on business and is willing to collect them.

Let's discuss this by e-mail with all interested parties as there could be a cost implication.
