As a more or less neutral, although watching with a mainly English crowd with one Welsh bloke in it, I thoroughly enjoyed that match. The Fijians played their hearts out. Unlucky with a couple of possible tries, but that's rugby of course. As others have pointed out, they have weaknesses in critical positions.
As said. It was a belter!Just back from the Wales game, we must have left at least 3 tries out there in that first half. Just not clinical enough & why is George trying to skip around defenders instead of ploughing through them? He seems low on confidence.
A win is a win but with the scrum we've got we're not going to go much further even if we do qualify, absolute shambles.
Unfortunately the crowd around us really were absolute muppets, more concerned with the 2 English lads near us & last weeks result than on the game. The English lads to be fair were gents considering the abuse they got. Had to have a word with one bloke in front about his language, using the worst of words in front of the two 6 year old girls next to me. Nearly decked the pillock.

Well, if Wales play like that against Australia, I reckon Australia will take a bonus point win.
If England beat Australia, then I reckon they will top the group thanks to the losing BP against Wales and the only winning BP against Fiji.
Rubbish. If England beat Australia, then I reckon they will top the group thanks to the losing BP against Wales and the only winning BP against Fiji.
Fiji played with so much self respect and resilience they would have made any team struggle. Wales were not bad. They were certainly turned up for it. Fiji were just very very good.

In other news, Alex Cuthbert is stealing a living as a professional rugby player.

They played into fijis hands most of the time with loose kicking, poor chase & tacking high. Fiji were good in patches but cannot put close to 80 minute performance in. International rugby is often about playing the percentages, in all 3 games in the first 20 mins they proceeded to chuck the ball about in there own half-often close to their own line when a simple kick for territory or to release the pressure. Against Aus and Wales in particular they beat themselves in the first quarter.Fiji played with so much self respect and resilience they would have made any team struggle. Wales were not bad. You see - I don't like this way of thinking. If you are comfortable and feel stronger with the ball in hand - then why not try and execute that? A few times it nearly worked for them.
I follow a few sports. My favourite being rugby. But the most obvious trait for them all, is that you have to confuse the opposition. Wales expect the ball to be kicked down the field. They came with something different. And I respect that. It was a riskier prospect. But it was brilliant to watch.
I also think we are missing the obvious point - Wales are a better team the Fiji. Even with their injuries. England put the bonus point past them. Fiji are a team that I respect - but they are not as capable as Wales. So I have even more respect that the fronted up and went out there to play.
Looking forward to Saturday now. I think England CAN beat Aus. I'm just not sure we will. Either way I'm loving this WC if England do go out - I'll still be stuck in front of the TV enjoying myself. I just wish I hadn't been so tight and had gotten some tickets.

I'm not saying Fiji didn't play well. I just don't think Wales did. The scrum was a disaster again, and what on earth was going I with their tackling? They missed 25% of them?!? Had they been playing Australia instead of Fiji tonight, I think they would've been very lucky to stay within 10 points of them.
With the exception of Gareth Davies and AWJ, can you really say any of then put in an outstanding performance?
have to be honest with all the talk about bonus points for Wales I thought it was properly disrespectful to Fiji, apart from that though a cracking match and that try interesting though as it shows that the Fijian pack has improved out of sight compared to previous years.
Again the French were just...... French!

Was at the match yesterday for Canada vs France, crowd was mostly 'Canadian' but noise was deafening at some points no matter what and who supported who, ie Frenchies cheering on Canada at the line.
Did TV pick up on the streakers? There was 2 of them, both ran off the pitch, one came back on and ran towards the line out, saw the ball coming his way so did a quick u turn and left

What hell is going on with biggar's ritual. It gets worse - longer and more twitching and grasping - with every game.
Shoulder, shoulder, hair, shoulder, hair, twitch, twitch, shoulder, hair, kick, blah.Annoying as hell, irritates me in a way tennis players having to wipe their face with a towel after every rallye does, but I guess it works for him!
