Anybody been following it this year? Closest it's been in a very long time with the championship leader Scott Moran only actually winning 1 event so far.

Very exciting this year, especially with the supercharged bike engine cars catching up with the bigger engined cars!

Yes me. Its going to be a close season. I think Scott's dominance is coming to an end, while he's still the man to beat, Trevor Willis is going really well as is Will Hall with the V6 and the bike engined boys of Summers, Goodyear etc are really challenging. Its good stuff.

I can't see Scott being beaten this season though just because of his sheer consistency. Everyone else seems to be having issues!

Shame about the DJs because they were flying earlier in the season! Both should I imagine be back for Doune.

I admire Wallace Menzies chutzpah in planning to be back for Doune, but unless he was refering to another car, getting it fixed will be the most almighty under-taking (that is assuming the tub is still viable) - it looked in one piece, but that doesn't mean anything with carbon fibre.

Anyway, exciting year so far. Will Hall's car sounds the business - really distinctive.

Already heard in the paddock that the car could have been ready for Loton! Crazy really!

Aye, Will's going well this year! I imagine he'll be challenging for the title over the next few years.

Exactly. They're the only ones to have not made significant changes to their car in the last few years. Also don't underestimate how much help Roger is for Scott (and vice versa). Twice as much running time for the car so twice as much feedback into the setup.

It'll be very close this year, and lots of action in the other classes too.

So looking at resultsman it looks like Jos took 3 seconds off Alex Summers' old record! That's madness!! Scott with two runs under the record, to take 22 points.

Good to see Alex Summers running again too after the loton shunt.

That's a fantastic run from Jos, he's certainly one of the most exciting drivers in the championship. He'd be right up there if the car was ready earlier!

Harewood next, I'll most probably be going up to Yorkshire.

Harewood tomorrow then! Anybody going?

Looks like the dailynx Audis are there, as well as Tom Ingram in the BTCC avensis!

As far as the championship is concerned though, I reckon it's the perfect track for Jos to take the win in the 'charged raptor, although Scott always goes well at Harewood. Be good to see the GR59 out too with Paul Haimes driving.

Scott will be pleased to extend his lead in the championship after the misfortune of the under 2 litre brigade.
A new ladies record for Sue Young and Keith Murray broke the class record in his mental Audi 80.

Starting to believe that the future is not in boosted bike engines. They seem to be way too fragile.

Notable performances at Harewood by both Richard Spedding and Steve Owen. Both were flying!

Indeed they were and great to watch. Moran looked effortless as usual but Alex Summers looked pretty handy and can't help think Jos would've been mega. Let's hope reliability improves on blown bike motors as it makes for a great mix up with the big bangers.

Heard from a competitor that the Summers' DJ is for sale and he's going V8. Not sure how true that is mind.

Shelsley this weekend anyway, anybody going? Will Hall has been flying recently with a maximum 22 at Wiscombe, and Trevor Willis is seemingly back on the pace after a double win in Ireland.

Table going into Shelsley -

I am still astonished that the tub was usable again! I am sure he will be fine. He is not short of testicular fortitude!

Another storming performance by the bike engined cars at Shelsley. No words to describe Jos Goodyear, under 23 seconds, only a matter of time until he takes the hill record. Awesome stuff.

Alex was flying too. Found out that the V8 he's using next year happens to be Scott's Gould - so that'll be interesting!

Will Hall is slowly reeling in Trevor Willis in and has reduced the gap yet again to 15 points. Wallace Menzies must have had a disappointing weekend not qualifying for either run off.

Gurston next week, and I'll be making the long drive down smile

Interesting...so i wonder if Scott is making the transition to smaller engine, or something else, or nothing, a la Martin Groves? Scott's best time at Shelsley was set in 2007 and maybe he feels he's reached the end of the road with the big Gould.
