A few of us have been saying for years that Sky were eventually going to start buying up rights to show Hurling.

Well it's started. On Sky sports 3 now.

If you've never seen a game of Hurling you might want to take a quick gander.

Fantastic game and this opener features Kilkenny who always seem to make it look like they have an extra man on the pitch.

Enjoy.

Probably not the best game of hurling you will see as most games involving Kilkenny are a one way affair. Great to see Sky Sports finally get in on the action, some very interesting comments on twitter this morning.
I hope a Sky show the Munster Final, it is always a cracker.

They used to play on the park near where I lived in Luton. Similar to the Sunday morning football, two hungover teams wanting a fight, but this time with sticks. Mad, utterly mad, but looked great fun too.

Should be a cracker, Kilkenny have a lot of miles on the clock, could be a last big game for many of that team, including Brian Cody. King Henry on the bench.
Tipperary a much younger team will be hoping to get off to a flying start and kill the game off early. No love lost between the sides. 'mon Tipp.

A classic. Skill, passion, aggression and some brilliant scores. And we still have another half to go.

A cracking game, worthy of any final. Kilkenny looked like they had done enough with a four point lead, but Tipp just wouldn't lie down and should have won it with the last puck of the game. The replay is on Saturday 27th.

Never watch a game before......but jesus what a game!!

Was gutted when it ended as a draw, i was expecting extra time or penalties or anything!!

Left me looking forward to 3 weeks time for the replay!

Never watched a game but that was great! I'd definitely like to see more of it.

I only tuned in wanting to see some build up for the NFL, glad I did.

A replay means another full house. 82,000 x €80 = a win win for the GAA. Not a bad days pay for an amateur organisation.

Always felt that Hurling, and to a lesser extent football, should never go to a reply, especially at an all Ireland final. However the GAA are not ones to turn away the chance of a few more quid in the bank. (I remember the 1991 Leinster football champisonship where Meath and Dublin had three replays - games two and three inclduing extra time - before Meath finally won)

Here's hoping they don't start covering Australian hurling.

The Chunder League is sickening to behold.

Couldn't agree less, aside from the monetary factor... We get the bonus of seeing them do battle once more, I can't wait for it. Those Dublin and Meath games were epic. Imagine the thought of not seeing them ? No way man. And at least they took €30 off the price of the tickets.

Essentially,
Rule 1 - You can't pick the ball up off ground or carry it in your hand.
Rule 2 - You score by getting the ball between the opponents posts, 1 point above the bar, 3 points below.
Rule 3 - There is no Rule 3. hehe

Yeah, I know it is a little bit more complicated than that - but it really is a Paddy 'n' Murphy game in terms of rules, the skill level on the other hand is astonishing.

Little Ex is playing the game and a while back at a training session I was messing about with one of the seniors/coaches, over about 40 to 50 metres (not even half pitch width) he could hit the ball to me and it would practically land in my hand.

An amazing game to watch, with a massive skill level.

Spent last night with some cousins in Wexford at a house party.

One of the little lads is 9 I think. Watching his ability with that ball and stick was mind blowing…I couldn't actually hit it once haha (blame it on the beers….maybe…).
