I have a quote for around £500 from the OPC for a set of rear tyres, is that good?

I live in the Reading area if anyone knows a good place for Porsche N rated tyres.

Been said umpteen times, but...pop down the A33 to Basingstoke, Micheledever Tyres is then 15 minutes away. If they can't knock probably £100 off what an OPC wants I'd be amazed.

The classic place near you (and me) is Micheldever tyres.

www.micheldever.co.uk

Upside: cheap. And they have *everything* in stock. Downside: always busy, you queue for ages, not the very best reputation when it comes to handling expensive alloys.

www.mytyres.co.uk

Get a quote and either use them or use it to get a quote from a local independent tyre company.

(Last four tyres for my turbo came to £620, of which the rears were £180 each)

Errr, hate to scupper you all but the place i use is closer to Reading and buys all their performance tyres from Micheldever and *usually* undercut Micheldever prices by about a fiver a tyre.

I've used them for ages, on bmw, TVR, and a three 911's now.

Get onto yell.co.uk and look for Bracknell Tyre and Battery.

No affiliation, etc, just a VERY satisfied customer.
If they don't have it in stock but Micheldever do then they'll get it for the next day.

Also -contact Wraysbury Tyres at Chertsey. Steve or Kevin. 01932 570420.

I've been using them for years, always competitive and careful with alloys.

They've also got a motrbike parts outlet and do bike tyres and brake pads.

Bracknell Tyres and Batteries fitted two 265/35 18 P Zero's for me last week £305. Give them a call the day before you want them and they'll get them in from Micheldever. 01344 411323. Like the prevoius guy I've no interest in them other than being a long term satisfied customer. Only drawback is there's sometimes a wait but there's a greasy spoon across the road.

If you're west of Reading, Headley Tyres near Newbury (on the A339 towards Basingstoke) are well worth checking out. They've always been the cheapest in the Newbury area for any car I've had, and I have never had any damage to alloys when they've fitted new tyres.

Same as the other popular places, you might have to queue for a while as they are always busy.

I would thoroughly recommend Event Mobile Tyres (0870 240 7787). They are very competitive on price (matched the lowest quote I had) and come to your home or work. They also showed great care and respect for my new Gemballa alloys, to the point they actually took them away at their own expense to get the tyres fitted by a specialist.
