4 weeks in. Bit of a random choice for me, I'm a bit of a bargista but seeing as these cliosports seem to be coming out of the woodwork recently I thought I'd give it a go! Really love the colour.

First impressions are good, it's quick enough to be fun but not get yourself into trouble. I'm looking to do a few trackdays in it and save some money in fuel over my old 530. (35 plays 24!)

Anyone thinking of getting one needs to go in with their eyes open though, they can throw massive bills at you (for the price of purchase). This car looked shabby round the edges but essentially tidy. Dephaser wasn't due for 20k or 2 years, Renault SH, sensible miles. Needed tyres, minor service and a bloody good clean...... Or so I thought.

Was sold as having a sports exhaust, they all have aftermarket as a Renault system is c.£1000, it was extremely loud and stupidly I didn't get under the car and actually look. Got it home and looked, errr it was a standard system with the centre silencer removed!! It also wasn't running amazingly when cold, it'd hesitate and be reluctant to rev. Took it to a specialist and boom. Dephaser pully.

So now I'm into the car for a timing belt, dephaser, aux belts, service and Miltek exhaust. While being done they also found a broken spring and both bottom ball joints goosed. After fitting the new front tyres I've basically spent the purchase price again. Looks like I'll be keeping this one a while so atleast I know it's all in good shape, few minor cosmetics to tidy up and it'll be good! (Wheel refurb, temp gauge and steering wheel retrim)

So onto some pics,

To try and show the colour:

They're fun little cars indeed, I bought one two months ago as a run around and love it, so muchfun on the little country roads. Enjoy!

Looks good.

Although that's 100% not a standard system. Those tail pipes are slash cut and much larger.

Where are you going for your belts etc? They are REALLY fussy with the timing. I did mine myself but I'm fairly handy with spanners and have the correct tools (non genuine tools bend allowing the timing to slip a little).

Plans sound good for it though!

Should of said,

I've already had all of the work done. The exhaust is my new Miltek smile I had the servicing done at Ren-Tech in Portsmouth, not the cheapest but lovely guys and came away happy (and the car with a clean bill of health!)
Eta: the old exhaust!

Looks like a decent car. You won't go wrong using Mike at Rentech, top bloke.

Ah great news.

That bodged effort on the exhaust is worse than some of my attempts! Mental.

I'm sure you'll enjoy the car a lot. Took me a while to gel with mine at first but I'm absolutely loving it.

Looks a nice example, they are great fun to drive and IMO one of the best pound for pound cars you can buy at the moment.

Get yourself a new splitter on there too, £12 from Skoda wink

I've got one too,FF in arctic blue,it's great. Goes well enough and does 36mpg on my 90 mile commute. Growing very attached to it,like you say I have also had a few bills, random misfires being the main issue!
Mine has the scorpion exhaust on cat back but it's quiet as a mouse.

The blue is a lovely colour, there are 2 more where I live one blue and the other is a trophy.

Does yours have the cup packs?

This is a good page for a quick run down of the different models:

Blue is the fastest colour biggrin

Mine didn't come with recaro's as standard but the previous owner bought some and fitted them, and they hold in you place rather well when enjoying some little country lanes.

Thought all FF's had the Cup spoiler like the Racing Blue above.

The Black Gold is a stunning colour all the same, nice!

Great little cars for the money. I picked up a 172 around this time last year and have spent almost the purchase price again getting it up to scratch. Took me to the ring and back last month with no major hiccups.

Great cars... I'm on my second; I had a FF 182 and now have a Trophy. They are hard to beat for the money tbh!

Nice car op, that bodged exhaust was a bit of a shocker.

However, not sure I agree with your "not fast enough to get in trouble" comment, these are more than capable enough of some decent speeds!

Mine does have both cup packs, so it has the cup spoiler. Not sure but the blue one might have the trophy (and therefore V6) spoiler? The seats look bloody nice, not managed to get myself properly comfortable on long journeys yet. The remarks look like the ones in my old Teg type R.

I'd of bought racing blue if I could find one!

Wrong choice of term ref the speed thing. They are nippy but not 'fast'

Both cup packs on mine, lad at work has a none cup pack version in the same colour, mine looks a lot more purposeful considering there isn't much difference.

The Racing Blue one posted above is the cup spoiler. Yours is the standard, non-cup pack spoiler.
