Anyone know of any mobile mechanics that could help me with the removal of a starter motor from a Griff?

I am in Braintree area of Essex.

Yer, Jon I did think of Zertec. I have sent an email but haven't heard anything back yet (I did only email last night though)

Nothing TVR-specific about undoing a couple of bolts, can't you find somebody locally to do it?

I can't find anyone mobile to do it locally and the car won't start to take it anywhere. If it is that easy do you think I can tackle it myself?

If you can't do it yourself, what's wrong with Bump starting it, and then driving to a garage ??

If it's anything like a Chimaera which it probably is, then its relativly straigth forward if you can get underneath the middle of the car, and have a allen key fitting for a very long socket extension.

Ideally I want to take it off the car and send it to Tower View to re-con it.

You could try Howard Pitts on 01206 241518. Might have to wait a bit though as he's very busy.

Thanks for the replies guys, I had a look last night and thought I would give it a go, two hours later (and a few swear words) its off! All I have to do now is get the new one back on.

Cheers!
