Yes I know this is an age off.. but I usually start things off quite a way in advance.. now I know winter is usually a dark grey sort of time of year with plenty of rain, wind, and bad weather leaving us little choice but to hunker down in front of a TV watching archived film clips of our favourite cars on TopGear..
In south east UK we don't do this - we organise our bi-annual Brighton convoy & meet!
It's a great chance for you to have a break from the Christmas rush and shopping and to have some time with great company, fantastic cars, a mug of tea and something to eat..
Depending on how many people are interested I will try to get something more organised if I can..

In case you are wondering - this will be the third Bi-Annual Brighton meet and the details of the last one can be found here:
http://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/uk-68/uk-south-e... if you want to check it out..

Just so you know who has indicated an interest (in no particular order) in attending on the day, so far it looks like this....

If you would like to be added please just make a post saying so (or if non member email me to be added) and I will be happy to add you to the list.

Listed below are Car details plus occupants (inc driver) where we have the info.

Current List:

SteveSheldon (me:-)) 2002 X-Type 2.5 (classic) manual + 1
Ngarara 2010 XKR 75 + 1

Total - 2 cars + 2 attendees.

As for the convoy from Crawley down the A23 to the venue we have:

SteveSheldon
Ngarara

Crawley - Brighton Convoy Total - 2 Cars

Hi Guys.... sorry I have been offline for a while but I have been moving house.. my Baby Jag has been through the wars helping move everything and needs quite a few scuffs and scratches sorted but performed faultlessly and I am amazed at just how much you can fit in a X-Type when moving :-)

I am still surrounded by boxes and bags but over the next few weeks I should be getting back to normal service so to speak - meanwhile many thanks for bearing with me.. If you need to get hold of me and you cant spot me around the forums pleasse drop me a poke by email at stephen.sheldon@solidlinux.co.uk ok?

All the best
Steve

I know we are in a heatwave currently - but now is the time to book yourself a bright day (bright day -brighton - get it? Ok, maybe not so good :-)) with great company, fantastic cars, and anything I can get organised for us to brighten (see, all in the same vein :-)) winter for us, and give us a break from depending on TopGear reruns..

If you dont yet have anything concrete set for December yet, why not put your name down for a great day out by the seaside - I promise no need for ice creams - but can offer mugs of hot tea, a big breakfast, and great conversation..

It costs nothing to put your name down, nothing to attend and you'll have a great time with likeminded people.. so why not? You know your car wants you to.. well, except mine that's not quite itself yet after my house move :-)

Is this just a Jag meet, or is it for all Marques? as I know of a few people that may well be interested with , TVR, Ferrari, Lambo and the like.

I just need to know username, car year, make and model and how many people and I'll add them into the list. Dates have yet to be fixed - but I usually find it better to wait till a month or so before the meet and then see how many can make which Sunday and go with the one that most people can make.
There will be a Jaguar dealer from Brighton there on the day, and I have no problem with trying to get other car manufacturer dealers involved as well if there is enough interest from other quarters in the Bi-Annual Brighton meets.. anyone is welcome to pop a post up on this thread here, or at JaguarForums.com, JaguarForum.co.uk, or JaguarOwnersClub.com, or drop me a line at stephen.sheldon@solidlinux.co.uk if they would prefer..

Anyone interested in coming along please put your name forward - the more cars and names, the better the chance we can swing something for us..
Whilst it is primarily a Jaguar meet, members with any other luxury cars are very, very welcome to join in and help make this a great day for us all.. so please if we can interest you just put your name forward - it costs nothing to put your name down for this third bi-annual meet, or to attend on the day - your only costs being the parking in Madeira Drive, the fuel to get there and the cost of a big breakfast (which I will negotiate as low as I can).. in exchange, the middle of winter is brighter for us, you'll be fed well, and its a great chance to escape from Christmas shopping and so on, and join some great company of likeminded people..

Just to let you know I haven't heard from Jaguar as of yet - but no problems as plenty of time yet and I'm not holding my breath :-) I thought the same about dealership involvement but it came up trumps in the end, and no doubt it will with Jaguar.

I am currently primarily looking to see who would like to come along to our third Bi-Annual Brighton meet - it costs nothing to sign up, you don't have to be 100% commited, the event costs nothing but parking and a fixed price meal and drink, you're guaranteed a Christmas shopping free day in December, great company, conversation, and of course a chance to check out lots of our favourite cars.

Additionally this meet, whilst it is still remaining (and always will be :-)) a primarily Jaguar meet, I am also inviting some other marques along to join us this time, as at each meet so far there has been at least one car non Jaguar that has come along.. and it generates a great opportunity for cross marque discussion :-)

Soooo... if you are possibly free in December for a TopGear sort of day and want a break from the Christmas rush - please pop a post up here or email me directly (my email is somewhere further up the thread) and lets make this a great day..

If you are reading this thread and are undecided as to if you should put your name forward or not please do.. the more people we have onboard the more I can hopefully swing things for us..
Yes it seems a long way off to some, but as the weeks go by it will come quicker than we think :-)
If you put your name forward it costs you nothing *and* you are not committed to come, you are just saying that you would like to attend.
It's a great day with the classic backdrop of the Brighton Promenades to contrast our cars!
Food and drink will be a fixed price deal that I will organise for just us for the day
Parking costs will be listed online before the day so you know exactly what you are going to be spending on the day!
There are no other costs to this - it's a free event by us, for us! :-)
The day will start at Pease Pottage services, with a cruise down the A23 to make an impact as we all go through Brighton and park up at Madiera Drive.. followed by a meal and mugs of tea, and then over to the cars..
So if you are undecided - why not just put your name forward? You will be guaranteed a great day in December! If you are *still* undecided please have a look at the main thread for our last meet here: http://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/uk-68/uk-south-e...

Just to update you I am currently waiting on feedback from JLR global sponsorship & partnership manager.. I have been in touch a couple of times now :-) and am hoping I can obtain some positive feedback from him regarding the Brighton meets.. I can but hope and keep in contact with him :-)
Meanwhile though - it's still a while off but time is moving fast... We may be in a heatwave now, but in a few months we will all be reduced to dark nights, damp, cold weather and the usual winter doldrums.. what we need is something to look forward to, something that gives us a break from Christmas shopping, the weather and TopGear reruns.. why not sign yourself up for Decembers Bi-Annual Brighton Meet, and guarantee yourself a well earned break from all of it.. a bit like booking a holiday in the sun for winter knowing you have it to look forward to.. except this is for a convoy, and meet of Jaguar, and other supercar owners, mugs of tea, a big breakfast, plenty of cars to look around and listen to, great conversation, and of course fresh sea air to clear out those cobwebs. Go on, you know your car wants you to! If you might be free in December for one Sunday why not treat yourself and your car to a day out with great company.. pop a post up here to join, or drop me an email at stephen.sheldon@solidlinux.co.uk ...

Just so you know - I am still chipping away at Jaguar - I am hoping for a positive response but its that fine line between chipping away too much or not enough lol.. I will keep you guys informed if we get a response... it would be the ultimate for me if I can get them involved in the work we do promoting and appreciating Jaguar within our forums and with the wider public..

Anyone wondering whether to come along or not - why not have a look at the thread for the last meet? http://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/uk-68/uk-south-e... and you'll see what you could be missing out on... why not put your name forward and come along to a guaranteed good day out - sort of a Jaguarish TopGear sort of day..
