For those of us who use this every day, I'm sure I'm not the only one who have experienced a noticeable worsening of the queues in the morning rush hour. The 'normal' queue is about back to Lakeside (junction 30) but for the past 6 weeks it's been between junction 29 and 30, a increase of about 3 miles!!

I've contacted Highways Agency to ask whether they know a reason for this e.g. a change in the phasing of lights letting more traffic onto the M25 but they have said that nothing has changed.

Any ideas anybody?

To prepare you for the inevitable clusterfk when they move across to the new pay system in the summer/autumn (I think)?

Nothing has changed at the tolls yet; that all happens in October.

I can't believe that the amount of traffic using this area in the morning rush hour has increased that much over the last month or so. Be interested to hear from people who join at junction 31 - has anything happened around here that could have had a knock-on effect to the M25?

Maybe all the staff that are going to be loosing their jobs later this year have developed a fk it attitude? That and the fact the auto tolls are ster than ever. Number of times I sit behind someone while the machine refuses to take their money

I pass the M25 on the A13 every morning around 5:30am, lately the whole area seems to be busier, along with the A13 into the city. last year i would breeze all the way through at that time, now without a doubt the traffic lights at the ship/shovel in barking is always a Q. more traffic out earlier maybe?
