Just keep telling yourself you love it, and it wont matter!

Anyway, In April I saw a small bubble appear on my bumper, I moved it around and quickly discovered that water was getting in under the paint! I found a small hole and squeezed all of the water out like I was an 18yr old with a spot before a night out.

Unfortunately the blister filled back up with water again the next time it rained, and of course it was larger this time. I again tried to squeeze the water out. We had a few weeks with temperatures in the 30s so the paint had baked and cracked...now I have a big bladder of paint on my arse.

Now to speak broken germany to a local bodyshop. Its a 2007 plate GT, and as I understand its a 6 year paint warranty??

So your warrantys out.

I had a paint issue on a 159 and made a claim through local main dealer, which after a bit of pushing, they sorted.

Have you owned the car from new? Could it have been sprayed by anyone but factory Alfa?

I suspect either way you will need to pay to get it sprayed/prepped.

Normally about £80 for half a bumper, or £150 full.

Ive been travelling with work alot recently and havent gotten round to fixing this yet. Anyway it tore in a section so ive removed all the bits of paint flapping about.

The car was in at Alfa/Fiat today for the Service & MOT (3 x Failures if your asking)
They quoted me 500euros to respray the entire bumper, there are sections that are also cracking.
Its actually the lowest quote ive had, some other places were quoting 1200euros!!

Lesson learned, dont try and own an Alfa in Austria, dont even try and own a car.

That would cost about £80 to repair here! Not a common fault so it's possible it's been painted before, does look a different shade although I appreciate they often are from new as the bumpers get painted in a different place to the bodyshell.
