Secure track side camping 2015
Discussion
As the title really, I am looking for secure trackside camping for 2015 LM24.
What we really want is to be able to walk from the tent to the trackside glass of wine in hand to enjoy some night time racing, used to go to Karting Nord and fancy something similar without the 3.142 issue.
Any recomendations?

Stayed on travel destinations Porsche curves site really good secure 24hr security and wrist band to get in and out. Really close to track was my first year definitely not my last but think ill be going back there next year specially after hearing some horror stories on here about other non secure campsites

Cam you just wander up to see the action without leaving the site, this is what I am really looking for?my first Le Mans this year and obviously massively lack 1st hand experience of other sites but we stayed at Airtrack and couldn't fault it, very secure, trackside, showers cleaned after every use (sometimes by a nice leggy female in hotpants)24 hour coverage and a band on 2 nights
Thought the campers were a good mix age wise, far from the cheapest campsite but it seems with Le Mans you get what you pay for

Only downside is that it is a trek to the main straight and Winston's Noddy Train, whilst fun was a bit shambolic and a real bundle to get on. The TD staff are brilliant and we would use them again....

I remember A few years back there used to be another small campsite behind the Chinese restaurant on the Mulsanne straight, trouble was you could not see much as the ACO put up big green sheeting on the barriers to stop spectators. No Idea if its still there?
Another Good place if Cash is no object is this place!

You can't get anymore trackside than that!

I went off track at Bounty, will be going there again free minibus to the track ten mins away.
Great people, good food I paid £245 pp with food included breakfast two course evening meal.
We had lunch out when at the track nice and safe clean toilets, for my son and I.
They have hook up, hire tents etc.
As with most on track camp sites, there are fenced in ones however it is like the LITTLE BIG HORN.
You are inside the fence they are outside, but what they do can affect you e.g. music,OTT stuff like fireworks and other things.
However each to there own.

Is Airtrack the only private campsite with electric hook up?
Nope - Village on the Curves, the private site in BSJ has hookups for a smallish extra charge. That site is a matter of metres from the infield Porsche Curves viewing bank and is very secure judging by our experience. Only downside is distance from the main bits of track, but we took bikes and that cut travel times down to a very manageable figure.I'd add that even the public camping at that end of BSJ did seem remarkably civilised compared to what I was expecting. In the Village OTC it was exemplary!
Considering doing this next year. Camped off site this year which meant loads of space, but I wasn't impressed at all by any other aspect of the experience.
That said, I saw a lot of the onsite campsites whilst on the helicopter tour and people seemed to be crammed in like sardines. There was one site which looked really well spaced out (seemed to have a tree in between each tent) but god knows which site that was, or if it was available to the general public.

Just a reminder that the Village on The Curves does have free minibuses which run on a scheduled timetable to both the circuit and the tram station.
