Hi all. Not sure if anyone can help here, but I'm coming to London this weekend and have booked a hotel in central London which doesn't have parking and looking at the parking options closeby, I'll be paying a fortune for it around the hotel.

So I'm thinking of parking near a tube station (North London - Coming down M1) and getting the tube in (Green Park is the nearest Tube to the hotel).

Does anyone know of the best tube station to leave my car near, is on street free parking available near tube stations over a weekend?

Cheers all.

Around Mt View Road / Mt Pleasant Villas is where I used to live, and about as close as you get to Finsbury Park tube with free weekend parking and pretty safe (there's a few nice cars that live on the street too). The green area on the map is a covered reservoir, so without houses on that side of the road there's always plenty of spaces. Restrictions are just 10-12 M-F to deter commuters.

Come off the A1 just after Highgate tube then you're 5 mins away. It's 15 mins walk down the hill to Finsbury Park then a nice quick direct Victoria line to Green Park. Or walk to either Ferme Park Road or Crouch Hill and get a (every 5-6 minutes) bus to the tube.

Else the end of the Piccadilly line (Cockfosters / Oakwood way) would probably work, but it's further from the main route in and you'll be sat on a train for much longer.

It's all parking permits in that area now including Saturdays Midday - 2pm. As SJG said, Cockfosters/Oakwood would be your best bet............or even Edgware where you can get the Northern line down although you'll need to change lines to get to Green Pk.

When I say "used to live", I mean as of a month ago. It's in Crouch End A CPZ - http://www.haringey.gov.uk/crouch_end_cpz.htm. Mt Pleasant Villas is in Stroud Green CPZ - http://www.haringey.gov.uk/index/environment_and_t...

Ah yes, I should know that as my mate lives opposite the resevoirs on Mt View Rd. I'm getting the days mixed up with Stroud Green road.

OP, avoid Stanmore as the Jubilee line will be partly closed this weekend!

Have you tried parkatmyhouse.com?
You might be able to get pretty close to your hotel for a reasonable rate.
Places might be pretty booked up though if you're coming this Saturday.
Not sure if you're on your own or with family, but possibly the price of parking with parkatmyhouse might only be a bit more than the tube fares.
Obviously not if it's just you...
You'll only have to pay for parking on the Saturday, there's loads of free parking in central London on a Sunday.

Another option is Luton International Station (or whatever it is called). Has a big multi-storey carpark which is around £5-6 a day. 20 mins into Kings Cross.

Cheers guys. I did exactly what sjg suggested and mount view road had a good few spaces. Then a 10 min walk up to the tube.

The power of PH! Cheers again.

Evening chaps. Same request if anyone can give up to date intel?

We're doing a Saturday day trip down to London, plan was to take the train but there's a bunch of closures that weekend so restricted service. Anywhere off M1 with easy access to tube is the aim, don't mind paying for parking if necessary.

Try bushy for residential parking and Watford junction.
