Off to Tenerife next month and considering a night time trip up the volcano, Have seen a website offering use of their telescopes in the cable car car park. Anyone done it?

Sorry, I missed your post. Have you already been to Tenerife, or do you still have some questions?

I've been there twice. On both occasions I spent 9 nights at the parador, which is not far from the cable car.

Don't worry if it is cloudy. The clouds are often lower than 7,000 feet, so they just serve to reduce what little light pollution that there is.

The Milky Way looks absolutely stunning from there.

Drove over it once in a Picasso hire car. Watching the temperature drop every 100m or so of climb was great. The road goes through the lava fields. Didn't stay for night time though.
