Sounds like a conflictto me. Raise it first with teh solicitors compliance partner.

His attitude is they are representing their client.
Which client though?

Both the estate and the claimants sound like clients to me. If the firm doesnt accept that, then yes I would go straight to the SRA.

I had a similar one earlier this year. Small firm, one partner acting for Trustees of an estate the other partner acting on the purchase of land from the estate. SRA made them drop the land purchase

When you say "their instructing client" to whom do you refer? Is such a person a beneficiary of the will or purely an executor?
