Anyone watching this new US drama? - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2543312/?ref_=fn_al_tt...

Think it's an online only jobby for the UK.

Set in the early 80's, it's a fictional drama based around the "personal computing boom through the eyes of a visionary, an engineer and a prodigy whose innovations directly confront the corporate behemoths (IBM) of the time"

Kinda a Steve Jobs / Steve Wozniak type of thing if you will.

It's a little cliché in places and some of the tech props they use are far too new but it's been sufficiently interesting to keep me hooked for the 5 episodes so far.

I only originally tuned in to it as I liked the composer of the music (Paul Haslinger) he's done a full 80's synth/electronic score which I'm quite enjoying also, was pleased that it was a good programme too.

Worth a punt if you're looking for something to watch.

I only found this amongst the Amazon Prime offerings on Saturday night and I'm already at S01E07. It's quite addictive, and having lived through the consolidation of the different home computer architectures in the early 1980s, it's almost like "remembering" the events (in general terms - as this is a fictional story).

Surprised this hasn't caught on more in this forum.

It's a great show, I really enjoyed it. Glad to see there's an S3 and it's now on, I thought it had been axed at the end of S2. Will probably wait a few weeks so I can binge watch it.

Just binge watched S1 this week, great series, probably enjoyed it more because this was my era growing up.

Astonishing how far tech has progressed compared to today.

Cheers for the heads up.

Yup. Got all the way up to real time last week.

It just gets better. Although some of the timing of the technology isn't up to snuff.

I found the first half of series 2 rather slow. And series three is only now (ep 8) getting up to speed. But the overall arcs in these series are some of the best I've ever seen.

I don't like the way that the immense technical skills of most of the main characters are forgotten about during the course of series 2, however. That irks me, somewhat.

But it remains good. So very good. Haven't seen so many C64s for a long time (although it also irks me that they seem to be capable of doing anything - including being coded in C++ at one point)...

I caught up to real time a couple of weeks ago. I'm not enjoying having to actually wait for the latest episode! It's like living in the dark ages wink

Just watched to the end of Season 3 and - well, what a way to leave things hanging.

And hanging, they were, because:

That's great news.

Also nice to hear about the cast and crew being such genuinely nice people. I've only seen Lee Pace in Guardians and this, and he has an almost supernatural demeanour.

Likewise.

Although S4 ep1 took a bit of getting back into (probably because when I originally found it, I watched all three series in one week)
