Our middle order looks proper rubbish at the moment. Why can't anyone play spin?

Dreadful, can't see India messing this up.

The only thing more embarrassing than England's one day game. Is India's total lack of care or enthusiasm for the test series that's just been. Wish they would just fk off and play hit and giggle cricket back home.

2-0 India, another horrible day for England's batsmen

Another struggle against the spinners , TB produce another slow low wicket ideal for India. Strikes me as very odd. Little chance of England gaining much momentum time for a bit of a rethink. While all the talk was of those players that can attack the ball there is still a need for the trott type player.

Not so much , Ballance was included in Swanns players that don't have a high enough SR. I assume he hasn't seen him play much if at all for Yorkshire. His SR in list A is 90. I would like to see Trott come back. I understand he is playing and scoring runs.

The team is just turgid. Cook has no place in the one day side, he is not dynamic as a batsman or Captain. Defending 228, the only way to win is to take wickets. You may as well surround the bat and bowl your best bowlers, there were so many runs scored through the slip /3rd man area, that you have to think that if there were slips in place, as a batsman you wouldn't be playing open faced shots through that area. If they drive you for 4 through the covers, then accept that, it's a good shot and there is always the chance of an edge off a ball the nips away.

Why they play Anderson is beyond me, as a test bowler he is a shoe in, for the one day game, where it is widely accepted that the white ball swings little, it seems pointless to play a swing bowler. Ali should be in, Woakes and Stokes bring the same, so play just Woakes, Stokes is having a shocker with the bat. Ballance should have a place, as should Vince.

We are going to get a shellacking if they continue like this for the World Cup.

More embarrassing batting from England - just throwing their wickets away to average spinners on a track which isn't even spinning much. confused

England bat deep today - lets see if the lower order can do any better.

I know England don't really care much for one day cricket but when people are paying lots of money for tickets then the least you could do is give it your all.

edit - Moeen Ali showing the rest how it's done.

Just unbelievably bad.

India just don't seem to give a stuff about Test cricket, but they are so much in their comfort zone in a ODI. England's tactics and approach looks about 20 years out of date. We need a team of IPL one day specialists to even give us a chance of not being bottom come the World Cup.

They got bowled out by spinners who don't even bowl in their native first class games in the last game, now today it's as if they haven't encountered a medium pace seam attack before. I despair.

I forgot we were playing today, having seen the score I wish I remained blissfully ignorant…..

We really are crap at ODI cricket aren’t we? We have some decent teams/matches domestically or are they full of non-English players? The teams a bit of a hodgepodge at the moment of test and shorter format players-major re-think required before the world cup.

India openers are just toying with the England bowlers.
