C70 2.4T hesitation

Car drove faultlessly for 100 milles. Got caught in usual Dartford crossing queue for 30 mins. Paid at barrier. Tried to accelerate away and loss of power when I put foot down. Carried on like this for 20 miles or so, no kick down, hesitant acceleration but cruised at around 70 mph. Wouldn't go any quicker. Pulled into services for about 10 mins. Car now fine.

I know I have a slight blow in the exhaust near the cat but what was that all about and will it happen again?

Sounds like it got hot under there and upset something. Possibly the MAF.

It ran fine today on the same journey home. Lovely in the sunshine and the pro logic system blaring out American rock music.

I did wonder whether the air con was draining the battery - that happens in our auto Kangoo. But MAF issue noted for next time thanks.

Does it have the standard air box and inlet system? is it all complete?

An incomplete inlet system or cone filter can (not always) cause heat issues with the MAF sensor.
