Hi folks,

I'm currently living in Chap A and I really want to start playing some 5 aside, my problem is, that I'm rubbish at football! I've not played regularly since 2009, when I was in a 6 per side league at University. My touch is terrible, my shot is weak but my fitness is decent.
Ideally I want to play with a group of a similar level who don't take things too seriously. My friend is in a decent team and has invited me to play, but I don't want to join a high standard team as I've done that before and it only discourages me from playing the next time.

Thanks in advance,

Nick

I only live up the road in Alwoodley and our situations sound similar.

I used to play regularly around 7 years ago. I'm okay technically but my fitness is terrible.

Depending on when and where I'd potentially be interested in playing casually, as I'm currently way below 'competitive standard'.

Have next to no fitness but would be interested in playing depending on dates/times etc. played a bit of 5/6 a side back in my Uni days but that was a good few years ago. Based in Headingley/ West Park so not too far from Chapel A/ Alwoodley

Cool, I'd love to meet up and have a casual kick around, nothing too serious.

I'd be up for that providing we can get a few more numbers together? Suppose it depends where you'd want to go as you can still have a decent kick about with 3-5 people at some place like Roundhay Park.

I'm up for it too, I'm in oakwood, wrong side of 40, haven't played for 6 or 7 years, used to be alright but more interested in just enjoying it and getting some much needed exercise.

Lads

I organise a Monday night 5-a-side game at Weetwood every week. It's informal - 10 lads split to make even teams each week - and has a roughly 50:50 split between some 35-45+ veterans (that include me) and a younger lads to keep us on our toes. There's a range of abilities and fitness levels but no real superstars or complete incompetents so it's a nice average level which makes a good game. Competitive but friendly.

We're looking for other players to join the group as work and family commitments increasingly limit availability for some of us so PM me if you fancy coming along for a couple of weeks to try it out and see what you think.

We play on the astroturf tennis court pitches at the Leeds Uni facilities on the ring road just by Weetwood Hall/Lawnswood roundabout, 7.45-8.45, changing rooms/shower facilities available, £4 subs.

Cheers
Paul
