I just watched this - completely awesome.
Does anyone know if those shots are from Palestine or are they from the studio?
Which shots? Does anyone know if those shots are from Palestine or are they from the studio?
Some of the stuff is re-engineering of newsreel footage (the bus, etc.), some newsreel stuff from Gazza, a lot of Israeli drone, helicopter and aircraft stuff.

Israeli Hospital Treats Hamas Leader's Daughter

JERUSALEM — An Israeli hospital says it has treated the daughter of Hamas' top leader in the Gaza Strip weeks after a brutal war between Israel and the Islamic militant group.
Avi Shushan, a spokesman for Tel Aviv's Ichilov Hospital, said the daughter of Ismail Haniyeh was hospitalized for "a number of days" this month. He did not disclose what she was treated for.
A spokeswoman for the Israeli military confirmed the hospital stay. She spoke Sunday on condition of anonymity because she was not authorized to release the information otherwise. Hamas officials were not immediately available for comment.
Israel and Hamas fought a fierce 50-day war this summer that killed more than 2,100 Palestinians, mostly civilians, and 72 people on the Israeli side, mostly soldiers.

They've also treated some FSA troops and the odd Syrian. Seems from the Times of Israel that they've also treated his mother in law for cancer.
Generally, if you're in their hands, and not immediately suspected of something, they're fine. If you're Palestinian and about to give birth, they often seem happy for you to give birth while waiting permission to proceed through a checkpoint.
Strange mix of kindness and cruelty. Absolute power for good and evil.

Ahh yes , of course , the rockets being fired from schools for example
Watch the goddam film, chump. Nothing, but nothing, in it deals with rockets/Gazza/schools. Do you really think retired Shin Bet bosses (and all of them alive at the time are in it) would have anything to do with such a film? Crass ignorance, shot from the hip, by someone who is too lazy to watch what he's commenting on. Terrific, well done (etc.).

you really are an offensive aren't you
I thought I was quite polite in the face of such crass ignorance. Didn't even bring the auto-censor into play! With friends like you, Israel certainly doesn't need enemies.
Just watch the film. Anyone regarding the recollections of ex Shin Bet heads as Palestinian propaganda has seriously lost it. Torrents, extracts, etc. out there.

If you've seen the filma. The re-engineered stuff is of Israeli newsreel footage of the bus hijack. It's done, I think, for genuine editorial reasons. It doesn't really do much but serve as an accompaniment to the dialogue, and is clearly done by the directors, not the Israelis, not the Palestinians.
b. The footage is of an earlier era. The film, after all, was released in 2012.

This may clarify things.
Israel have absolute control over the border crossings: the only other way is through tunnels (which Israel say they've destroyed).
... and what about the border with Egypt? that has been shut and for good reasons. Hamas cannot be trusted, they lie, preach hatred, misuse foreign aid, put civilians in the line of fire.Israel have absolute control over the border crossings: the only other way is through tunnels (which Israel say they've destroyed).
As long as hamas are in power and preach the destruction of israel, there should be the strictest of controls over what goes in and out - people and goods.

Hamas are no longer in control, at least, not technically. Hamas were not even in existence 20 years ago when the last serious peace attempt bit the dust. Israel has watched Hamas develop and, when it suited, used it as a pawn to prevent negotiations. Strangely, or not, Hamas actually seems to have more support on the West Bank (where it has never been in power) than in Gaza. Israel enforces restrictions in the West Bank as well as Gaza.
The border with Egypt was closed by the current military dictatorship.
Why do you think Hamas opposes Israel? Is it out of some perversity or could there be more to it?
I am starting to think this thread gas gone very quiet?
I guess people have dropped out when they realised they couldn't change peoples' minds? Or convince them of their own views anyway?
So my only forum to ask questions without getting into an uncomfortable position has disappeared?
Oh well...... Shame actually.
P
Ps have watched the whole of 'Gatekeepers' now - brilliant!

I think that's more down to the fact that Al-Sissi doesn't want any of that new-fangled democracy raising its ugly head in Egypt again.TheRealFingers99 said:

Hamas call the shots in Gaza, have the military power, preach the hatred and call for the destruction of Israel. I completely sympathise with Israels actions when you have neighbours like this.Strangely, or not, Hamas actually seems to have more support on the West Bank (where it has never been in power) than in Gaza. Hamas don't just oppose Israel, they preach destruction of it and it's people. They even teach kids nursey rhymes about it.
You cannot negotiate with retards like that. Even Egypt has seen some sense and shut their borders. It's not just Israel.
Until there is a calmer authority in charge within Gaza and the west bank, nothing will change with Israels stance... and rightly so.

Hogwash. Hamas was founded during the 1st Intifada in 1987.TheRealFingers99 said:

And why do you think that is? Could it be that the people of Gaza have learnt what a bunch of mercenary, cut throat murderers they are, West Bank have yet to do so?TheRealFingers99 said:

Another misconception. The border has been under Egyptians sole control since 2005 and the crossing has been open for very short periods since then. For example after Hamas seized power in 2007 the Egyptians closed the border crossing at Rafah, thereby trapping 6,000 Palestinians who had taken refuge from the fighting. Hamas refused theses Palestinians permission to come back and even threatened to mortar and machine gun the crossing point if they tried to go home. Yep, Hamas, by the people, for the people!!!! Because they are terrorists. Because they are paid for and controlled by Iran who do not want a peaceful middle east. Because they are a racist and extremist Jihadist bunch of murdering nutters born from the Muslim Brotherhood. Because they know that peace means they loose power and therefore constantly provoke war.Why do you think they are banned by Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Egypt?
