How wet did you get? Have to say the weather was horrid when I was out but still managed a couple of spirited bursts now and again when the traffic thinned out biggrin

I made the OH cry as the rear end stepped out at Indy corner and a bit of fast correction was required whistle Only two laps for us this year due to the poor weather and being on at 8:30 in the morning was a nightmare, having to get up mega early and our hotel being 30 odd miles away!

Any pics or videos? Please post them up on the Pic thread smile

We went out at 9.15 which was especially interesting when every Elise driver seemed to want to stop on the entry to corners, poodle round and then speed off, most disconcerting and caused a front wheel lock up on one occasion!! Still wet but got some speed up as well so great fun and worth the effort.

We were on track about 10.30. It was very wet and we had two spinners I saw. Good fun, but questionable value.

Sounded like a waste of Beer tokens so did not bother booking for the money there seems much more fun in a track day or a couple of speeding fines wink
In Fairness spoiled the Saturday for me as there was nothing to watch race wise until late in the day while the organisers lined there pockets with your beer tokens.
But that apart a fantastic weekend

I have Video footage of my laps, I will post up the full un-edited version as people might be able to spot themselves smile

But have to say I find it crazy the various categories of cars allowed on track at the same time!

yikes I thought we were going out with Corvettes, Cobras and Mustangs,GT40S then also found on track cars from the 1920s and 30s! On our first lap out we were so hacked off we pulled over at the Michelin chicane to try and open up a gap frown We only got 2 laps because of the slow speed (i think), did anyone manage 3 laps?

It seems to be very much the luck of the draw with these, my car did not qualify this year being too new. Two years ago I took my Alpine A610 out on the laps and was lucky enough to be last in the queue going out so had a whale of a time achieving three flat out times down the Mulsanne. Again it was luck of the draw, in 2012 the 12.30 session was bone dry and the track dried out quickly. Despite having done a few track days I put these laps on the legendary LeMans track to be one of the highlights of my life, it could of course be that I don't get out much.
Fridays qualifying was more enjoyable for me and the guy in the yellow GT40 did the worlds most spectacular recovery after having a moment on the chicane just before the start/finish straight.

I did it in 2012, and through some blagging and French organisation managed to get out twice and do 8 laps. 4 up in a Mondial at 130 down the mulsanne was epic. Did not book any this year through as at the time of booking i did not have an eligible car, but once down and now with one i was quite disappointed that we did not get out…..roll on 2016

1st time to Le Mans in any format. A bit of a shame that we only got the 2 laps in which I assume was down to generally slower times & caution due to damp track etc. Coupled with so many cars out together this resulted in a concertina effect at most corners which meant braking 200 metres or so early, still managed 120mph down Mulsanne straight which I suppose was reasonable all things considered. Saw a couple of offs, Mini on inside of Mulsanne corner & elise on onside of esses just after Dunlop bridge. I thought a Stag was going to collect me at one point but the driver just held it together and we both had a smile on our faces. Only questionable driving I witnessed was a blue Caymen (British reg.) going down the middle before esses prior to start/finish straight.

Here's one from our cabin - with no grip anywhere and other drivers being unpredictable it was a rather cautious affair.

I was much the same, no space to move or get the peddle down, the organisers mixed several time slots in our group resulting in a traffic jam on every corner.

Will save my money next time.

Nice video, I was in this group in the ruby red TVR Chimaera with the RAF roundels & Le Mans Classic decals, you caught me up just going into the start finish straight at the end of the last lap, I nosed ahead just before the first right hander.

Haha, yes I remember that - I thought ”we’ll have him” then you found some traction (goodness knows how on that slippery surface) and buggered off up the road. biggrin

We did the laps around 11am, but was a bit confused as there were lots of new cars on the track at the same time? I thought it was a classic car only event but it seems anything goes which I wasn't expecting. It was a bit wet but we had the top down (1966 SL230) a few TVRs with their roofs UP as usual, and a few fast cars back in the car parks a bit shorter then when they went out. We went nice and slow just to enjoy it, but there was a strange mix of old and very new cars which made for an interesting time.

Was nice to have done it once though.

We were out at 9:10am, in one of those TVR's with the roof 'UP' tongue outbiggrin

This was our third Le Mans Classic and third parade lap session, it was way too busy for my liking, and very expensive for two laps, so not sure I'll bother with them again grumpy

Anyway here is our footage, enjoy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fjaUyS92ImI

I was on that one....a tad wet wasn't it!

The yellow Corvette at Indie spun off right in front of us, looked like he had to brake slightly on the way in as a car cut in, back end broke away and despite a bit of 'oppo', he was off. Saw him at the end though so thankfully he got out of the gravel and carried on.

You caught me at 17:17, you must have had better traction than me hehe

So many sightseers, most probably drive quicker on the roads in the wet.

Sure was a bit moist biggrin I clocked the slippery surface flag heading into the r/h kink before Indianapolis then saw the Corvette get out of shape and disappear stage right in the distance, I failed to get left due to traffic, so slowed to a crawl expecting everything to go light and interesting but surprisingly found plenty of grip instead confused He was attempting to reverse out as we passed, nice to know he got free thumbup

Not sure I had much more traction, took me a lap to catch you wink although my passenger/wife kept prompting me to go faster all the time scratchchin Great looking toy you have there, glad you found yourself in my footage thumbup
