Hi, looking for a bit of advice from everyone.

I'm currently trying to change career and I've been carrying out unpaid work experience in the new field. I currently have it added on my cv under the general introduction section and skills but I think it may be getting overlooked by potential employers so I was thinking of adding it to my employment experience section along with my current role?

Do you think this will make any difference or will it make it look like I've got far more experience than I do which may get me in bother at interview stage?

It's work whether it's paid or not. Strictly speaking it's not employment so if included under the heading "work experience" you are not misleading anyone

On my CV, I have two main section; education and experience.

Certainly, list the work experience as you would with any job, after all its potentially your most relevant experience for future employment.

I'd suggest adding pretty much what you've said in your post to your profile on your CV. If I saw that as a prospective employer reviewing CV's from applicants (working for free to get a start), then it's the sort of thing that would stand out to me.

Put in in the employment section.

If you want someone to look over your CV, PM me. I hire a fair amount and can give some balanced feedback if that is of any help.

Go to the boss of your work experience place and ask nicely for a letterheaded reference. Ideally it would note your eagerness to contribute and learn, 100% attendance, great attitude and interpersonal skills and a note that they would take you on as a trainee if the opportunity arose.

This third party endorsement will add some weight
