I am going to be brutally honest , what an arrogant egotistical post Karl, obviously you are David Bailey in disguise, what qualification do you have to critique his work you numpty

Op keep up the great work
Not that you probably care, but my critique was well thought out and not just a “you suck” post as is often the case in these forums. I don’t think he had a problem with it, so why should you?

As for my qualifications: I worked for a racing team as an automotive photographer for several years. I also happen to be friends with and fortunate enough to be guided by the official photographer for Aston Martin and Bentley. His work is world renown and I have had the opportunity to have him critique my work. I’m also fairly well connected in the photography and Photoshop world for more than 2 decades. I have met, taken instruction from or am friends with photographers who are leaders in their respective fields ranging from landscape, to concert, to wedding, to swimwear photography. They have had their work on covers of publications such as National Geographic, Time, and Sports Illustrated. My friend, Scott Kelby, has media business which specializes in educating people on photography and Photoshop. One of his numerous endeavors is a weekly web-streamed show called The Grid. In it, he and many of these top professionals, do “blind critiques” of work submitted by others wanting to get into the photography business. So, yes, I think I am a little qualified to pass some advice to a fellow aspiring photographer. wink

Will has the right kind of attitude. His reply to my post here shows that, as have his replies on other threads. I think he appreciates constructive criticism and seems thick-skinned enough to take the heat--if he didn’t he would be pursuing the wrong career.

P.S. that’s “Dr.” Numpty to you. smile

Oh so you are friends with photographers .....
I am friends with a cardiovascular surgeon but it doesn't make me a surgeon nor would I comment on a junior doctors work .
The op response shows maturity and far more class than you have shown ,
Once again well done doctor numpty

Hmm. You seem to have conveniently forgot the part where I worked as an automotive photographer for years and that I took instruction from and have been mentored by those pros, but that's OK. Whatever makes you happy with your argument. I'm not here to have a battle with you. smile

The best photographers have a plan in mind for what the picture they want to create looks like and sometimes spend hours setting it up just to get one shot. I know photographers that scout locations for days and show up multiple times in order to get the best weather conditions if shooting outdoors.
Very true. One of my workmates and fellow teacher is a semi-professional photographer; we'll be on the beach and while I'm actually doing the work, he'll be setting up one picture.

Worth it though http://www.eatonnature.co.uk/

Crikey Mikey, calm down!

Has your Reliant Robin overheated or something? smile

KF is one of the least offensive people on here and Im pretty sure his comments have been taken in the spirit in which they were given by the OP.

B4rnst4ble I do appreciate your support but it's alright. I don't mind having the good old criticism and advice given to me. I've had people almost telling me I should quit and do some desk job haha. If these guys have been working for the big guys then it's always good to listen to what they have to say.

The forums are great to get in contact with car owners and photographs on here and so far I've have a few nice people who are going help me out so cheers you guys. And if anyone else will be willing help with my portfolio then I'll be very grateful.

Will,

I would be happy to help you but fear I may be too far for you to travel to in Milton Keynes. The only reason I offer myself is because you have approached two of the marques I have. This one and Rolls-Royce. Go look at my garage - we have a few British icons you are welcome to shoot but we are not local by any means. If you come our way then feel free to contact me. If I am around I am more than happy to open the garage and take a few cars out for the day.

Sure! I aim to please. Here's a link to my friend's (Joey Wright) website. He is a very talented swimsuit photographer. I am also friends (thanks to him) with a couple of the models he uses.

Enjoy in good health:

Indeed he does, however, I suspect young Will will struggle to find any similar looking girls in North Wales!

Trying to keep this thread at least partially Aston-related, here's a link to a thread I posted a few years ago with some of my own Aston photography for those who haven't seen it before.
