The other thing is almost all of it is filmed with static cameras, not a camera team following them around. When they came to us they sent 1 bloke with a small camera so I'm not sure it'll make it in.
But it means they can't film the recruits being crash moved in the field at 3.15am after 10 minutes sleep.
The exercises after the half way point get more interesting anyway as the early ones are just about being thrashed and morning kit musters. With a bit of cam and con thrown in.
I would guess that in the current climate they have to be careful how much they show and that certain aspects of the training would be out of bounds. Also, they probably have to be careful about what is in the background in case that shows something that shouldn't be seenBut it means they can't film the recruits being crash moved in the field at 3.15am after 10 minutes sleep.

Contrast these young men with the pond life from dangerous dogs on at the same time
Not having seen either; taking it as your word, the perverse thing is that these 'decent' chaps will be sent off to die, whereas the 'pond life' will not. Isn't this the wrong way around? I guess it was ever thus. The old lie: Dulce et decorum est...174tps troop video made by the training team

I have to admit that I was really puzzled with the attitude of the Egyptian recruit. He complained about the "system" and having to train to kill someone. What did he expect from the Royal Marines Commando?
I really don't blame his NCO for being indignant at receiving a resignation letter. "You could've written a more eloquent letter than that!"
I'm sorry to say this, but the recruit's attitude reminded me of an old Monty Python sketch.

So was I , what else did he expect At risk of coming across a bit UKIP he seemed to want the kudos of a green lid with the somewhat relaxed attitude of, shall we say, an army more at home on the Med?

Aye, it was very strange. Surely one of the things you really need to have an opinion on before you do the training, is the fact that you will need to kill someone at some point.I really don't blame his NCO for being indignant at receiving a resignation letter. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt though and assume it was edited to make it look like he just wanted the easy life. I assume he really did think he would be able to do it all when he joined, and the training and reality of it dawned on him while he was in there.
The letter though, why make him write it again. It's obvious he didn't want to be there, and they didn't want him. Just get him out as quickly as possible and stop wasting everyones time.

Unless I got the wrong end of the stick it seemed as if he could do the physical bit generally. Just that he didn't care for the military discipline of keeping stuff bulled.I'll give him the benefit of the doubt though and assume it was edited to make it look like he just wanted the easy life. Yes he did fail a rope climb but by that time was his mind shot?
At times it's quite difficult working out which week they are in. For example Cole was back in Hunter at the same time as the Maltese guy who left a few weeks back. Plus Dilaway was still knocking about.
On the other hand it does deal with a weekly topic.
So next week is Tarzan course, including the leap, and the 30 miler.
