If one was considering living in Coalville but needed easy access to the motorway and didn't want to live actually in Coalville, where is a good spot?

I'm trawling the net and google earth but google searches are mainly only telling me where is bad, not where is good. Good to me means a nice village with a pub or two. No requirement for night clubs or large infrastructure, necessarily. Would rent or house share.

Needs to be within 6 or 7 miles of Coalville really.

Leicester side of the M1 at J22 is Woodhouse Eaves / Quorn.

How much are you looking to spend? Which way up the m1 are you going? There's lots of nice little villages but will obviously always add extra money. Parts or Swannington can be good and quiet

Newton Burgoland and Newton Linford are my suggestions; or Woodhouse and Woddhouse Eaves as already mentioned.

I live in Whitwick which is next to Coalville. There are some nice houses there and some not so nice. There are a few pubs too but only one that I like.

I would probably not go in to a pub in Coalville again but that may just be me being a snob.
There are some really nice houses in Coalville but more to the Copt Oak side.

As said above, Markfiels, Groby, Newtown Linford are all nice.
Woodhouse Eves, Swithland and Rothely are very expensive but fantastic places - the pubs are great too!

When I was looking for houses in the area, I used Google earth street view to get an idea of the area before visiting.

I may offend some people by saying this but Bagworth is a place you should avoid. I looked at a couple of houses there as 5 bedroom + double garage was a low price. Then I noticed that many of the house owners had caravans....
