Hi all - the catch on the spring loaded lid for the small tray in my centre console has broken - <see photo> (it bent first and I repaired it with Araldite - but it's come off again; however, this time, it's completely snapped off so, I am thinking, would be a real bcensoredr to repair again (unless I can take the tray out - which it looks like could involve removing the whole console!).

I'm suspecting it would be better to replace the lid if it's going to be a big job. Anyone know if it's possible to replace the lid/tray ... and, anyone got one in their spares bucket I could buy?

Either that or, is it possible to just get the tray out or lid off? If I could, I might be able to glue it again by using a vice while the glue sets.

Any help or advice greatly appreciated,

Regards

Ian

If you remove the top bit of the centre console (goes around the gear stick, and ends at the front of the bin/arm rest), that cubby is held in by two screws underneath. Google how to remove that section of the centre console, but it's a single screw at the front.

You can't get the lid, it's a whole new cubby. I had MF get one for me as a new cup holder and they had both broken. You'd think they would be 20 quid, unfortunately they aren't, so anybody that plays with the lid or a cup holder gets a bking now!

I super glued mine back together, been fine since, trick is using the right kind of glue for the type of plastic. Once its set put another layer of super glue round it to give it some strength.

Me too! Mine is embarrassingly held shut with black electrical tape.

It's been on the list of 'things to do' for a bit too long now.

Likewise but doesn't warrant 90 for something I'll not open again
