They're blowing up the towers soon, and looking for a reasonable vantage point.
It's apparently 3am on 27th, so pictures are out, but I would still like to witness this spectacle.

eta: between 3 and 5am, so the later will be daylight presumably.

You just answered your own question.
The locals are apparently trying to get it moved forward to 6am.

They have to do it at that kind of time due to the road and rail closures that are going to be required .

Shame really but its light by 4.00 so i'm hoping i'll still get to see if from the Ridgeway

Cheers, just tried to PM you, but function does not appear to be working.
Could you give me an idea of where I am likely to be able to see from please?
PM if you like.

Cheers

Not sure how visible it'll be from far away at night, guess it'll depend if it's a clear sky or not.

We'll have a 2 week old baby then so chances are high that we'll be awake at 3am !

Several car parks or access points on the Ridgeway, near Blewbury, or even from Compton, West Ilsley you can get a great view of the towers.

Shame they are only do 3 this year and remaining ones in 2015/16

I was interested in going to this. Didn't realise it was such an early start though!

I would head up to the new estate at:
http://goo.gl/maps/j4nZK

It's new enough that it's not on satellite view, it may be on others.
It's on a hill with a great view very close.

The northern towers are above a gas main so may have to be dismantled. Once the south towers are down and removed the main stack can come down.

Sadly I'll be at the Silverstone Classic on Sunday.

Against my better judgement I went along to watch this (as I also had to be down near Brighton at 11am), we were just along the B4493 from the A34 bridge and had a pretty good view. Just a shame they couldn't have just said it'd be at 5am from the beginning! I have some pics and a video which I'll try and post if I remember later.

I had a tweet from Mark Coleman who was running the show, who said that they would be making a decision at 3am to say what time they would be firing, but prior to that, there were certain factors which would influence the actual time.
