sadly they then watered down the gt2 description by the marketing dept at porsche with the models after it.
Kinda like the GT3 too then. wink

Apolo. One word - Unbelievable.
This proves you are a speculator not an enthusiast, but that's fine as long as you admit it. Oh, what's that? You don't. hehe

Seriously though, I hope you enjoy the 6RS more this time around. You're a lucky bloke. Have fun finding out either way.
That's my dream 911 you're getting to own just because you fancy it. Nice position to be in. Enjoy.

Thanks M,
I do appreciate that I am fortunate. But I am no speculator, well at least not on this car. I still have my doubts about the car. But lets see...

If I don't like the car it will be back on the market for a fan- boy to enjoy, clearly the car has a cult following....

The car I am most excited about is my 918, 1300nm of torque, 0-60 2.2, 0-100 in under 5.....

2.2s ??!

If that figure has actually been achieved, it must be an American car mag, which we can ignore....Top Gear just tested it and clocked it at 2.5s.

Car and driver magazine in the US that one I believe.

Sportauto supertest had 0-100kmh at 2.6s. Would be interesting to see what autocar get on the 918 when they do their full road test on it.

Car and driver just got 0 to 60 in 2.2 seconds for a standard 918 spyder ( non weissach ) edition .

0-30 mph 1.0 seconds
0-60 mph 2.2 seconds
0-100 mph 4.9 seconds
0-130 mph 6.7 seconds
0-150 mph 10.5 seconds
0-160 mph 12.2 seconds
0-170 mph 14.4 seconds
0-180 mph 17.5 seconds

9.8 second 1/4 mile @ 145mph

Sport Auto got the same times

because as with the other American mags this will be done using their usual roll-out timing method, which is always worth a few tenths.

It explains the 0.3s difference to the TG time for instance.

I thought it was down to the temps, ie bit more grip on the rubber?

Car and driver i believe use a one foot roll out which is why their 0-60 times are always way faster. Everyone else seems to be getting around 2.5...? Sportauto most certainly did not get the same times as C&D.

The above 0-130mph looks flat out wrong as well.

Sportauto supertest -
0-200kmh -7.4s

That 6.7s you have looks more like a 0-120mph time.

Ok makes sense.

'They' meaning porsche? Excellent, would love to see what they can get with rumours the factory are confident of knocking a good bit off the 6:57 which already is an insane time for a road car.

Isn't it 15m. Aren't you using the final velocity rather than average/actual velocity? Not that it matters, it's bloody quick.
