My requirements are: user provided POIs to cover camera locations, low bridges, chip shops and similar. European mapping. Lifetime map upgrades.

Screen size and resolution and other features are of less importance.

I have been using TomTom software for a long time but I now need a standalone unit and haven't had to buy one since they looked like a small television...

My budget is up to around £100, which I suspect will be more than enough, and my principal concern is that I will end up with a device which I am not able to add my own or other commercial POIs to, which I understand has been the case with the latest models?

I just got a Go50, a bit more than £100, £150 ish but that seems pretty good and includes the updates, the cheaper basics Tom Toms dont have the updates or if they do its like £20 dearer.

Was to avoid dicking about with, and flattening my phone whilst squinting at the tiny screen
