Here you go.
Couple of yrs and they'll be manic if they follow the trend of other older turbo's which they will.
This is the car that West London OPC rebuilt in last years Porsche GB's UK wide competition. Had £40k spent on it's rebuild I was told.

Just to confirm how dam good these cars are, I was at Goodwood last Saturday [ 9th ] entered in the Bailey Sprint.
Sadly only 3 in my class, but dam good quality cars. One being a very nice metallic black 996 GT3 with KW suspension, the other a well driven latest spec Nissan GTR.
On Goodwood’s fast flowing bends the 996T really came into its own, what a beautifully balanced car, a lap time of 1.28 from a standing start, just hitting the limiter in 5th on the lavent straight which I reckon is around 160 mph!
Sorry to say I got beat by 0.9 by the GTR,,,,,,,,,,,,, that time loss is in the car next time hopefully if I dial out the high speed oversteer.

Buy one people, there Fabtastic smile

Sadly, not yet, I must get my self a Go-Pro smile

I do believe that after the first timed run, myself and the GTR pilot were 3rd and 4th fastest overall, just take the numbers off and drive home smile

No, not in the roadgoing class. Full harness neither, although I recommend one to hold you in smile

Had a good day out at Gurston Hillclimb yesterday, resulting in a class win on a 34.53 and 104 mph over the line, even beating [ just ] a slick shod GT3 cup race 997 smile

Here is a little footage, my class starts at 4.13 ends at 4.59, only 4 cars sadly but all with over 500 bhp!

I've held the opinion that the 996 is the ugliest car both inside and out that Porsche has ever produced. I wouldn't care if it was guaranteed to double in value every six months, I still wouldn't own one!

All IMHO of course smile

Clearly you've never seen my Cayenne. wink

I don't think the 996 will ever be considered the prettiest 911, but I think they're aging fairly well and the turbo is better looking than the NA.

Why will they? What is a reason to buy one over other 911s?

I'm inclined to think they will too. Can be tuned for big power quite easily, and they have the strong engines. Plus, since I've just sold mine, they are bound to be worth £50k+ in the next couple of years.

I don't own either of these but my money would go on a 997.1 Turbo.

If the Mezger engine demands a premium, then the 997.1 Turbo still has this and most people prefer the styling.

Thought i'd throw this one out there.

Not been actively looking, but through a friend of a friend, i've been offered a 54 plate 996 Turbo Cab in silver with black. 70k miles, specialist history for last 4 years with current owner, very limited history before.

Mechanically, very sound, but body work showing some signs of wear and tear (kerbing, car park scars etc)

I'm thinking buy cheap for a summer blast and sell cheap next year.

Whats the consensus on estimated value?
