Hi
Just picked up a 1992 V8S in Solent Blue Metallic with Doeskin interior and 38,000 miles. The car is now in the garage alongside my Tuscan 2 Convertible. have done 400 miles since Friday and that V8 precat does sound nice.

Hi,
Thanks for the welcome. So far so good only niggle is fuel gauge not working. Occaisionally when you turn the ignition on the fuel gauges comes to life for a couple of minutes but then returns to no reading.

Will post some photographs later.

May be a loose connection on the tank.
If you take the near side rear off you can clearly see the connectionson the side of the tank.

Worth a look. thumbup

+1 for a loose connection on the tank end. The sender electrics are a bit exposed to road crud and it doesn't take much to get a loose earth on the spade connector.

Welcome to S ownership, you won't regret it. Any pictures of the beast?

Plus me - mine came off when hammering it down the autobahn. At first I thought i'd dumped the whole fuel tank over Chris, driving behind me. Was the wire and spade connector to sender on fuel tank (Passenger side)

Hey David as a recent V8 S owner myself can I say welcome? Will you be joining us for the euro tour next year? You should!

Hi Dave.

Good bunch of people on here, if somewhat strange. The S's are great cars.

Can you post pics of your car as well as the fuel gauge! whistle

Hi,

Will take a look at tank connections tomorrow. Too busy trying to clear out the second garage to give the V8 its own home. Just completed a 3,500 mile Eurotrip in the Tuscan last year but if the Euro tour is at the right time for holidays I will certainly be looking at it.

Not unusual. If it's not something simple like a loose wire then it's probably knackered. Here's my experience.

Mine still lies to me. I suspect the float has a little hole in it. Wasn't obvious when I took it out last year so now I have to consider whether I can really be bothered to do it again when this time around it might leak. It will comfortably do 220 miles between fill-ups so that's all you need to know really.

Good luck and welcome to the best Forum and the best bunch of TVR owners.
