Hello all,

Following a full replacement chassis, wishbones, Gaz Gold Pros, Hi Spec brakes etc my Chim is better than new underneath. My next project will be a full respray in the original star mist green. Could anyone recommend a body shop? Also what kind of cost will I be looking at?

Many thanks

Steve.

The 'best' as far as reputation go is 'surface & design' over in Blackpool. All the work I've seen from them is better than the original factory job, which is slightly ironic given that they are the ex-factory painters and work out of the old TVR factory.

Certainly would suggest that they are the first you speak too.

Very good, but VERY expensive.
Option one in Bromsgrove is worth a call, not cheap but quality work. Talk to Frank, done a few jobs for me now and all superb.

Where are you located ?

I cannot say anything but great stuff about Chris Gregory at Autorefinishing in Knaresborough, near Harrogate. Very reasonable prices too

Aeromotive in Birstall did a cracking job on my Griffith.

The two Phills will sort you out.

you could contact MD Vehicle Services Portrack Stockton TS182ES 01642 633688. They are in the process of doing my TVR S1. Nice people to deal with, are straight talking and not expensive.

Where are you based? Lots of good and bad painters out there, I see some horrific paint jobs now and again!

Thanks for all the replies. I'm in the North East. It would be interesting to find out this one turns out.

I had a look on the Surface & Design site. I've heard they're fantastic but the prices are definitely top end. Does anyone have any idea of prices to compare please? I'm probably going to have a light conversion too. The standard ones are shocking.

Do not under any circumstances take your car to the shysters in Bishops Stortford that have a name similar to that of an old England goalkeeper....
