Really enjoyed the video Clive. Fantastic work.

One quick question: have you put the helicoils in yet?

i was under the impression that you couldn't anodise a part once they were in. This caused me problems years ago and I ended up buying slightly over sized taps, so the helicoils would go in after anodising.

You've most likely thought about this, but just in case...

Oh dear never even thought of that one.... Well spotted, will have a word with the Guys at the platers. See if I can seal off the top with a ally bolt before dipping them...

Instead of lock wire I will be using these locking washers. Found a video that shows how they work..... Time for Tea Moment..

if what they say/show is true, then very good so it seems.

A couple of years ago these guys came to our workplace to demonstrate these washers (still have the bottle opener) and they seemed very good with the bottle opener just finger tight and you would require the use of pliers to unlock it again. http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=28&...

edit.
if your going to use them to high torque values make sure you get a big bar to take them off if required iirc it was something like double or triple the force required to unlock them after.

Clive, I will have a look and see if I can spot the front tyre size in the full resolution photos, or if i have another one that shows the front tyre better.

I thought I had posted it, sorry about that. I have more photos of the early white car as well.

was the MG metro rear light - installed upside down, a standard fitment on the back of a 962?

Funny thing is if I could get a metro like that here I'd buy one.... as a nice idea has sprung into my head about a 6R4. Mainly the running gear to make it true mid-engined 4wd V6... Would be great next build me thinks....

I posted image 22 on another forum, as a guess the car type thread, and they came back with the 6R4....more reading to do for me. We didn't get them down under so I had no idea.
