Great day and for about 20mins I was KOM for the Epic course until everyone else started uploading their rides biggrin

I'm a broken man now though!

Edit to add: strange I was KOM but Guffy was quicker than me. Strava glitch as he is not on that segment which is the entire course.

Great riding with you today Steve. Cracking average for the route. See your Strava is pretty much all PBs compared to last year!
Glad I went back down the hill at Burton Dassett - Managed to snatch 5th overall on the segment from the left turn up to where the road split at the top of the hill! smile

Good course, glad I got there early, no que and had a good start. Sorry I didn't ride with you, had a chat with gruffy, tired to keep up but you were to quick for me! And then had a brief chat with mikees at the end (I was the guy on the Planet X).

This'll make you laugh: you were a bit quicker once we hit that big hill. When we hit the top I wished you well and sped off, as I like to give it the beans on the way down, only to discover it was a false flat. Not wanting too look like an idiot I gritted my teeth and dipped well into the red for the second half of the climb.

hehe

I've appeared on there now that Strava has processed my file properly. 4th place (this year. 5th place all-time). Very happy with that, on the mighty Triban superbike. 24 minutes off the KOM though! I was passed near the end by a guy on a Cervélo TT bike, who was absolutely hauling ass. I figured he'd done the standard route but, maybe.

Absolutely fantastic day guys ! Really enjoyed it despite the *issues* on route. smile

Special thanks to Nathan for stopping on puncture number 1 and helping out (I owe you a tube sir) and even more thanks to him for managing to find the most microscopic of stones protruding the tyre causing all the punctures !! clapbow

JT, as always mate, was a pleasure and thanks for helping with the other punctures too ! smile

Next time can we have less hills please ! hehe

The Merc passed me a couple of times. He was on the epic route too then. I don't mind giving 24 minutes away to a TT bike then.

I wondered what that Merc was doing! Support car on a Sportive is a bit much, no?

You should be able to stalk this mystery man with his support car using the strava fly by viewer... Definitely up for another meet like this, happy to travel so let us know what events people are planning to do in 2015 and we can get a few more group photos!
