Of course, the other thought is that it wasn't what was taken in that was important, but what they took out...
A load of specialist communications and radar equipment from a local factory apparently
Just thinking that, all the fuss going in, none going out.

I'll take one £20 wager the Russians don't formally invade Ukraine.
No-one ever said they will, but it is blatantly obvious they are doing it informally. Which you seem to think is perfectly fine.
Looks like 10 Russian ( uniformed) paratroopers have been captured inside Ukraine now.

Gonna be hard for Putin to keep pretending there isn't an invasion hehe

Who gets Kareem's 20 quid? ( or does ' formal' mean evening attire wink )

Transcript from one of the captured Russian soldiers on TV.

One of them, who identified himself as Ivan Melchyakov, listed his personal details, including the name of the paratroop regiment he said is based in the Russian town of Kostroma.

Ivan Melchyakov said:
"I did not see where we crossed the border. They just told us we were going on a 70-kilometre march over three days,"

"Everything is different here, not like they show it on television. We've come as cannon fodder,"

"I am addressing the relatives of Russian servicemen: find out immediately where your loved ones are. Take them out of Ukraine, where they are being forced to die"

When he states "everything is different here, not like they show on tv", he is referring to the relentless propaganda being broadcast on Russian state TV

Totally plausible ...

Just like accidentally pressing the trigger on the BUK rocket which brought down the airliner.

After all - crack paratroopers would never have access to maps / satnav / GPS would they ?

If this is accurate and not just typical 'pick and choose' reporting, its quite sad for Malaysia Airlines which really had nothing to do with one (probably both) of the airliners which went down.

In local Singapore news : several hundred flight crew have resigned, and he airline is recruiting a new CEO / chairman.

Very sad and unfortunate .. Though the airline was making big losses prior to both events ... Would need a major restructuring in any case.

The stock was also recently de listed

It's a shame, I'm in that region myself in January and even though they do flights for as little as £20 you can bet a large amount of money I end up with a more expensive AirAsia ticket

Is it me or in that video when he is asked about his opinion on whats happening in Ukraine, he looks away and speaks as if he is reciting something pre-agreed? As in he has been told what to say?

I'd guess so. I would not trust the senior Ukrainians on this at all.

And once again, isn't it against some convention to parade PoWs on TV for propoganda? (Rather like what happened with the Royal Navy numpties who got captured by the Iranians while they were busy listening to their iPods and taking selfies...)

The Geneva convention states it is not legal to embarrass or humiliate POW's on TV. The US found itself in hot water for parading POW's on TV in Iraq, so it is a bit of a grey area as to what is classed as "humiliation".

The Ukrainian POW's paraded on the streets of Donetsk who were pelted with egg's and tomatoes clearly had their right's violated.
