13 Pounds would be about right.
If you are blowing at 102 degrees I would surmise the existing cap is faulty.

Hi Paul,

Ours goes at about 110, and did have our old cap give up. It's fairly straightforward to get a new one as its a standard part. The guys on Layerthorpe had one for ours.

I am running Evans Waterless Coolant although car is not on the road yet, have had no issues so far but engine hasn't been pushed but has been up to temperature in the garage on hot days without issue. Good points so far no issues with removing header cap when hot, bad points are that it feels strange when it leaks and you have to wipe it up, almost sticky, but not and is tad more expensive that water. I'm happy so far, cars running an LS3.

Today would have been a good day to test cooling/fuel systems. 33 degrees here in Cambridgeshire.

All you need is a traffic queue and I bet you wouldn't need to go far to find one in most towns.

I have run Evans in my SBC for years. Never had anything close to a boilover, leak or any sign of corrosion. The only temperature gauge I keep an eye on is my oil temp.

Must agree its odd to mop up so far things are looking good . Car ticks over now without boiling up and temp are a lot lower for some reason . Also seems strange how you can take the radiator cap off with no pressure just need a dry day and a traffic jam

I started out by removing the stat as per Evans original recommendation, however I didn't like how long it was taking to warm up. I picked up a 'Hi-Flow' stat when I was ordering some bits from Summit. Seem to remember it was a Mr Gasket one http://shop.mr-gasket.com/cooling-system/thermosta...

Now warms up quicker, doesn't seem to cause a problem with cooling.
