Does anyone use a cigar lighter fitting for their accumate charger, are they OK. Does the wiring require any change.

The Accumates I've had over the years all came with direct battery terminals as well.

It's easy enough to connect that up, route the cable under the passenger seat and into the boot (via the wheel arch). I then plug in the accumate from the boot to the power socket in the garage.

Have the Tuscan plugged in via lighter and the Chim previously, as well as having the Chim hard wired

I did use the cigar lighter, worked fine in terms of wiring but unfortunately I found it difficult to keep the electrical contact with the Accumate plug, so I used the connector direct to the battery and it hangs just over the footrest in the footwell (assuming you have a Griff). If you can make good connection to the cigar lighter then use it, otherwise connect direct to battery. Pete

^^^^^^

I had the same problem, couldn't get a reliable contact.

So fitted a power socket in the back of the glove box, very handy for mobile phone and sat-nav whilst on the move.
