Friend of the family has died after a long battle against cancer. The family have a photo of her they'd like at the funeral. There is someone else in shot & was wondering if anyone clever on here has the technology to delete them from the photo? I've seen this kind of thing on TV but have no where near the talent required!! If anyone can help please drop me an email. Many thanks.

I cannot help but suggest that you do not post the picture on here if requested to do so, as it will not end well.

How "busy" is the photo?

If the two people are separated and they're against a fairly plain background, then it's an absolute doddle. If, on the other hand, the people overlap in the shot and/or they're against a complex background, then it's much, much harder.

Don't agree with that, even PH knows where to draw the line!

The background couldn't be worse-a pebble beach & wall! I'll email you now, I've had a go & it isn't too bad but a pro could certainly do better!

Cheers everyone.

I've asked a couple of resident experts to take a look at the thread, but I think they're at work today.

There are many talented 'shoppers on PH, hopefully if you post the pic given the subject people will treat it seriously.

I don't think anyone is going to take the piss on this one, they know better.

A move to the lounge would get a far quicker response Shaw Tarse wink but Ali has already sent Foxeh and Pixel Pusher a link so I'm sure they'll be along to help if they have time thumbup

Less chance of it going wrong here than lounge frown

The PS clone tool should deal with that quite easily. It's missing information that's hard to reconstruct, like half a building or person.

Post the high res original and youll have a few examples in a few hours.

Were usually a sensible bunch in the photographic section. Its Photoshop requests in the lounge that don't end so well.

I'm sure we have the decency not to take the piss out of a funeral photo.

Glad you got it sorted in the end. It's much nicer (and satisfying, too, I imagine) that the final image has come from you.

My condolences to all her family and friends - I do hope everything goes [as] well [as can be expected] for you all at this difficult time!

Rgds,
Scott
