60 in a 40 (M56-Parkway). What to expect?

Colleague of mine got a NIP for 56 in a 40 there, photos included. Never got fined or summonsed Keep your fingers crossed. They must catch so many drivers there. Agree that in the rush hour if you weren't paying attention then you might come across an unexpected queue, but a lot of the time its a clear road with a ridiculously low limit.

The Parkway was intended to be upgraded to an expressway/motorway, I believe, hence the wide bit and big , substantial junctions at each end of it ...but there is no direct access northbound from the anti clockwise M60...

Sorry to hear. There are vans on both sides of the road there at least one day every week.

Worse is on the other side of the road (40mph limit), you get past the residential bit, put your foot down here and there is one of the vans just round that bend.

Indeed, and it doesn't officially become a motorway for quite a distance afterwards.

I wish they'd fix those horrible potholes in the right hand lane just before the M56.
