Just ordered the new Seven 160, bought from Caterham South, had a demo drive in the car that's featured in a lot of the magazine test reports and - fabulous, great sound and performance from the small Suzuki engine, and such a character this car has. I plan to use it to tour the British Isles, I've got a Skoda Fabia Greenline as a day to day car and it's marvellous not having missed a beat in the last 60,000 miles or so since I bought it, but it wouldn't give me that motorbike sort of buzz that I'll get kfrom the Caterham whilst touring say, the Highlands and Islands of Scotland driving through the beautiful mountains, alongside streams, and calling into a lovely country pub in the early evening for a meal and a pint of - orange squash...
It'll be in the light blue with a british racing green noseband, full weather equipment, lowered floors, alu filler cap, 12v socket and it should be ready this coming November '14. Looking forward to it - freedom, and a real driving feel without all the modern cosy aids.

Big congratulations from me, but beware, it's a slippery slope!

I take it you've gone for factory build then?

It's a great feeling knowing you have a Seven on the way.
Touring the highlands in it should be great, I'm hoping to take my 125 up there next summer, and with the 160 you won't have to worry about running out of fuel smile

Thanks for the nice comments, yep it's going to be factory built, I haven't got the time or the space needed to build it myself, nor the mechanical ability, though one of the guys at Caterham did say, when I told him I change the oil and filter on my Skoda, that if I can do that I can build it, I approached a local garage here and asked whether they might be interested in letting me have a spare corner, (also with the idea that I could ask their advice when stuck), they said perhaps later in the year and it would take quite a lot of skill and experience in their opinion, so I thought no, it'll take far too long, let the factory do it.
I'm going to have the Armour Fend plastic transparent protective material applied to the car especially to the rear wheel arches, (also with metal protector plates here) as they can get a lot of stone chipping from the exposed front tyres whizzing round, I think that will be a sensible thing to do, I'd like it to remain in good condition for as long as possible.
I also will be touring the Scottish outer Isles, so quite an adventure coming up, and the car should attract a lot of friendly chat and interest on the way. Also want to tour Wales, Yorkshire Dales, the Lake and Peak district, Northumberland, and down South - Norfolk, Devon and Cornwall, might see you in Scotland next year Downsman!
