And when he gets in from his long drive he can tell us about the life of the CCM discs and pads and all the other things that prospective V12V owners who are actually going to drive their cars want to know about - please.

Yeah I spotted that one earlier, highest mileage I've seen so far on a V12V.

With 60k miles the depreciation is the least of the previous owners worries - he will surely have spent around £32,000 on fuel alone! eek

Thankfully fuel costs never entered my man maths Adam smile

I am sure that the fun-and-smiles per pound ratio is pretty spectacular. smile

This is actually quite encouraging, even with 60k miles, it's still up for £66,000... Nice.

Also, the V12 lump is only really just getting run in about now so probably quite a feisty machine!

Interesting that this car is now getting into uncharted territory for a Gaydon motor. Not many with that kind of mileage and it isn't just the engine that will have had wear and tear. The price is encouraging for the age and mileage, but the new owner will have to accept that not many can provide anecdotal evidence of reliability at such a mileage and of course warranty won't cover wear and tear.

That said, why shouldn't a V12V be able to do 150K miles - it is after all a car which is not being particularly stressed, at least in the engine area.

No reason. My local dealer recently took a V8V in part ex that had done 150K miles on one clutch. But how many CCM discs would a V12V owner have got through in that time at £6.5K per pair yikes

I was chatting to a guy from Aston the other day and he seemed pretty adamant that the engine wouldn't really start to free up properly until way into double figure mileage. He has test them. So, yeah, if it's understressed and kept nicely oiled up, it should be fine, no?

I wouldn't have any concerns about the engine, just the rest of the car! The difference in general screwed togetherness in mine between 3k miles and 20k miles was massive. If anyone ever needs to buy a Christmas present for someone at Gaydon, I think Loctite would be a good shout.

I hope that's not the norm. My V8V is at 7k, and is doing very well on the screwed togetherness thing. My 993, at 71k, still feels great, and I love that about it. I'll be very unhappy if the Aston gets squeaky and rattly.
