Hi all

In the last 2000 miles my car has cut out / had a split second loss of power and then it goes back to normal again. No warning lights or other symptoms!

Once was under heavy acceleration at around 80 or 90 mph. The second time was in 6th gear cruising at a constant 80 mph.

What could be wrong with it? Dodgy fuel pump?

The car is a 57 plate A3 2.0TDI 170 S Tronic with 86k on clock.

Whilst not really a major issue at the moment, I do 20k of mainly motorway driving a year and am worried it may permanently cut out on me which would be dangerous!!

Thank you in advance.

Injectors? It's a well documented issue on that engine.

Mine (1.8T petrol) does this once whenever there is 20 miles-worth of petrol in the tank. I guess it is a final reminder for those who ignore fuel gauges and low fuel lights!!

Gave me quite a start when it did it the first time! Thought it was really running out of fuel . . .
