I am thinking of uprating my suspension and I wanted to know if anyone has any advice on what brands to use?
Car : Daimler double six v12 1986

If you have already uprated your suspension please let me know and if you could provide further information regarding the parts and cost that would be great.

I have attached photos of the items i have been recommended so far which included Gaz dampers front and rear.

uprated Eibach springs for £138 inc VAT - a pair of Eibach fronts for £162 inc VAT.

Front and rear Gaz £520 plus vat

thanks Jon

On mine I've got the Harvey Bailey uprated front and rear anti roll bar conversion kit.TWR XJRS type Bilstein shocks with standard springs.Poly bush the front upper and lower wishbones and rear radius arms and solid aluminium rack mounting bushes. It's also got AP racing front brake kit and an X300 vented outboard rear brakes conversion. Then changed the wheels for 16 inch with 235 tyres for some extra grip and to allow the brakes to fit.

In the example which I've described I wouldn't know what the figures in terms of parts costs would be now but it certainly wasn't cheap some years ago. With the exception of marking out and positioning and fitting the rear roll bar conversion everything else is reasonably doable on DIY basis. As for those total costs as I said it wasn't cheap but worth every pound in transforming the driving qualities.I've posted the the site for Harvey Bailey. While the rest is a case of sourcing the parts from Jaguar salvage specialists and Jaguar Classic Parts in the case of an outboard rear brake conversion and the usual specialists like SNG Barrats and Rob Beere engineering and AP etc.
