Indeed. There is probably a debate on just how 'domesticated' cats get anyway.

They're hardly domesticated. Not being able to escape out of a bowl doesn't make you domesticated. Maybe a goldfish that could pull tricks and fetch might grow a set of floppy ears.

Ah, maybe cat "owners" develop floppy ears over time. wink

I'm not so sure. I've seen goldfish perform somersaults.

You missed something crucial. It somersaults to see where it's safe to land. A kind of risk assessment. Realises it's actually dry on the other side of his cage (ie dangerous to land) so doesn't break out. "But why does he do it again?" Because he has the memory of a goldfish. It's like H&S executive's dream - a life of risk assessments.

Now I know why they have bright, orange, flourescent exteriors. It all makes sense now.

If nature had invented sirens and flashing lights, they'd have had them too.

Was thinking more of the orange "fourth emergency service" lights.

Not the same. And they don't have sirens. Or at least a recorded voice: This goldfish is reversing.

That's a mutant - cute - but a mutant nonetheless.

That's what the string of poo signifies.
