Had a few little jobs need sorting, so while it was up on jacks, wheels off, waiting for new Michelins N4 from Chris @ Excel.
1. Drill/poke out blocked holes on discs. ( thanks StutgartMetal for helping, while drinking a lovely cold blonde bier )
2. Fit new fan resistor, old one had corroded away.
3. Bumper off, and clean all the debris away from the rads. I thought I kept the leaves out with regular checks and vacuuming, but its not till you actually take the bumper off, and check in between the rads, you realise how these rads rot if not checked.
4. Oil change.
5. General look around. It's not till you have a good look at the GT3 suspension you realise how amazing it really is. Now coming from my last rally car, a Mazda 323 4x4 Rallye,1988, with 4 shocks and 4 springs, with anti-roll bar, the GT3, looks very complex kit.
Saturday I'm off to Ayamonte, via Albert ( to visit the WW1 unnamed soldier graves) Millau Viaduct via The Cevennes National Park ( on recommendation from Jackal ). Next the N260, right to left, dropping out at Pamplona, into Madrid, and onto Ayamonte. The wife and kids are flying there, and I'm having the time of my life wink

Looking great ....... Might want to take it easy on parts of the N260 ....... the road surface is now utter crap in places. I've just got back and certain parts we didn't do, still a lot is good though

Bizarrely now in Spain, the lesser roads, ie their minor roads are better tarmacked and more fun than their N rated roads in a lot places.

Have a great trip. I came back worn out, but I'd gladly drop everything to go back tomorrow for another week. Not sure my old 911 would be happy though. smile

This is it, 993 style. Soap and stiff brush, then inspect bushes, all perfect, ready for 3000+ miles

Didn't realised Spanish Tarmac has potassium in it. "Tarmacked".

What I drove of the N260, was great. But I bailed at Sort, as I ran out of time to get to Madrid. I was planning to go to Pamplino before dropping down to Madrid, these twisty bits, take a lot longer don't they? I also had to delete Cevennes National Park, before Millau, but I'm going through this on the way home, as recommended by Jackal, I've been using his routes in reverse. I'm going to start at Ripoll, the take the N152 ( another Jackal recommendation )
The road I used to leave the Pyrenees, C13 was brilliant, a super smooth piece of Tarmac, with plenty of safe overtaking points.
The GT3 is now sunbathing down in Ayamonte, after a perfect 2000 miles.
The whole journey, and I only saw 3 911's and one UK Boxster, its only London, you see them on every street corner.
Driving it around down here, is not for the self conscious, the whole town seems to stop and stare, scary!
Fuel used so far, £80 first fill in UK, 470€. Not bad I thought.
Love the Sanef tag wink

Well done fella and glad your loving it .. aint Spanish roads just great?

Shame you have not more time and especially in the Pyrenees though, you really are missing out some of the best roads IMO.

Where you are, the road east of Jerez from Arcos de la Frontera to Ronda and beyond to Cordoba on your way across Spain are fab.

Great tarmac .... dunno where 'tarmacked' came from. I can't even blame predictive text on that one smile

Have a great and safe trip back
