Didn't Hamilton kiss the barrier on the first lap too? You could argue that was good fortune if you want to look at luck (a bit like the damage in Germany; he was lucky there too).
All evens out over the season.

Luck doesn't always even out though... I hope it does this season but just because someone has lots of bad luck, they aren't owed good luck, unfortunately.

Wow! You seem to have an unhealthy obsession with Hamilton and this has now evolved to include his sphincter... of all things! This is a new low for you. I know times are desperate but...

Keep on trollin' wink

Of course, it was a team order; Mercedes are in face-saving mode now.

It was clear that there's an pre-race agreement that when NR/LH are on different stop strategies, they move out of the way of each other so as not to compromise the most efficient - and that means computer simulated* - result for the two cars. Almost certainly, this agreement does not favour either driver.

Before the race, this agreement made perfect sense. But during the race, the incidents and strategy differences changed the sense of any such order (events, dear boy an hour is a long time in racing, etc). The initially disadvantaged LH made far better progress than NR. For many reasons - LH's driving, safety cars, NR being unable to pass Verge, etc.

* I know that F1 is a technical sport, and some people love the use of competitive IT in racing as much as driver skill, but messing about with on-track racing because of "computer-says-no" simulations leaves me stone cold. Great to see that Alonso prefers to be in control himself, and does better because of it (see post-race interview)

There seemed to be a lot more than four trucks per team. For example how many trucks would it take to transport their 'motorhome' around? Just look at McLaren's.

Or Mercedes with Ferrari next door.
Those things are like transformers, they collapse, slide together and all sorts. They are massive though!
Just been doing some Googling to find out some more. Best I could find is that in 2013 Martin Boyes, the Transport Supervisor at McLaren bought 24 Mercedes Benz Actros trucks.
http://www.mclaren.com/formula1/team/how-do-you-ke...

In the video he explains that McLaren use 7 trucks for the cars and equipment and 15 for hospitality. So 23 trucks in total. Wow!

Trying to hit up the car insults is a bit poor, isn't it? Especially when you're trying to mock a car that most people consider pretty good...

I think cmoose wins this round!

There's wasn't, as the team has said. Move on.

I'm not sure it was a team order, rather just a request. Either way, it was clear that Hamilton's priority was to finish ahead of Nico and at that stage in the race he had a good opportunity to do that, one which would have certainly been lost if he allowed Nico to pass at that time. If they had met earlier in the race it would have been different (assuming grip/pace was no different) as Nico would have passed anyway. The simple fact that he didn't beat Lewis would suggest that ignoring the 'team order' was the right thing to do.

From the perspective of Nico, I hope he is more frustrated with the team than Lewis. Due to the order/request he wasn't trying to overtake normally. Had they just let them both get on with it he may have been able to overtake and push on to the win.

It's great to see Hamilton do well, because it seems to get the blood of many Hamilton haters boiling! I don't care who you are, but pit lane to 3rd, including a spin, is damn impressive. And I very much doubt half the pack could've done what Hamilton did in the race, even if they used the Mercedes.

Can't wait till Hamilton wins the World Drivers Championship..

I thought it was a remarkable drive.

Tough between him, Alonso and Riccardo for driver of the day as all have their merits.
