Hi all

Recently bought a 2001 Saab 9-5 2.0t auto as a interim car. And i have to say i'm liking it haha.

I will try and get a photo up at some point but have a few question.

1. Sum drop/breather kit. Can someone point me in the direction of the cause of this. Iv'e read its a must but what is the cause.

2. I'm Based in Tunbridge Wells is there any local specialist around? i'm aware of turners geen saab but are there any else.

Thanks

Welcome to the club smile

Sump drop is to do with sludge building up in the sump which eventually blocks the filter and pump. Normally happens if it hasn't been run on fully synthetic oil as well. Dropping and cleaning it every so often gets rid of it. Breather kit is (I think) the main cause. Plastics degrade and find their way into the sump, but the later breather system didn't do it, or at least not as much.

Unfortunately I can't answer the second question as I'm in Bristol...
